Diving in Cape Verde is a dream for some. And for good reason, it is a real paradise for divers of all levels, between well-preserved wrecks and colorful spots. So, in order not to miss any of this pleasure, and if you are already a seasoned diver, make sure you have certain documents, such as certifications, diploma, PADI card and logbook. Some centers also ask for a valid medical certificate issued by a general practitioner, or even a travel insurance certificate. Don't hesitate to ask the dive center before you travel, to be prepared for any eventuality.
The major event in Cape Verde is without a doubt the Mindelo carnival in February. If you have chosen to attend this great national celebration and to have a front row seat, book your tickets as soon as possible with your travel agency or local correspondent, or buy them as soon as you arrive. It is important to note that there is only one point of sale (for the moment), at Praça Amílcar Cabral (Praça Nova), which causes great crowds and long lines, and moreover, each person can only buy a maximum of two tickets per day. Good to know: tickets for the stands in Rua de Lisboa (1,500 CVE) and Rua Baltazar Lopes da Silva - ex-rua Machado - (1,000 CVE) are the most popular, as the location is considered the best spot because that's where the groups start the parade.
