It is delimited west by Beaubourg Street, north by Rue de Bretagne, east by Beaumarchais Boulevard, and south by Seine. Are you there? You can now go to its conquest, starting your journey by the island Saint-Louis for example. PLACE JEAN JAURÈS
Read moreIf the place Plumereau is the heart of the city of Tours, the place Jean Jaurès is the nerve centre. This is the ideal landmark in the city: indeed, the two arteries that are Béranger Boulevard and the Heurteloup boulevard intersect here perpendicular, cut Tours in four well defined areas. The square is dominated by the Hotel de Ville, a magnificent monument designed by the tourangeau architect Victor Laloux at the hinge of the th and th centuries. It also houses the Palace of justice, built in 1843 in a Louis Philippe style, without forgetting the two majestic fountains, which are different over the seasons by playing light and landscaping of the best taste. However, when the square was created in 1745, it was named after the Gates of Iron and marked the southern boundary of the fortifications. What the city has grown up!

PLACE DE LA LIBÉRATION
Read moreThis imposing square of not less than 4,680 m² that is fully renovated a few years ago underwent multiple transformations over the centuries and has now become one of the most beautiful places in France. From 1682 to 1689, it was developed in semicircle according to the drawings of Mansart who made the buildings of Palais des États and the arches of the place. It then bears the name of Place Royale. In the 18th century between 1721 and 1736, the rue de Condé (now the Rue de la Liberté) is open to connect the palace to the Porte Guillaume. An equestrian statue of Louis XIV (melted in the Revolution) is installed in the centre of the square. Called Place d'Armes after the Revolution and Place du Maréchal Pétain under the Occupation, it became the Place de la libération in 1944. Formerly a car park, this area has become a real place of life since 2006: terraces have been installed and various events take place there. In winter, when Christmas approaches, you will find the Christmas market...! In summer, a place for children and adults who have fun and cool off around the fountains in the heart of the terraces of cafés and restaurants. This site combines now the classic architecture with the will to look to the future. It is a place to enjoy day and night, enhanced by water and light games and by Comblanchien stone (Burgundy stone) which place is completely covered.

BOULEVARD DES PYRÉNÉES
Read moreTo capture the magic of the city of Pau, this is an unmissable walk. Facing the Pyrenees, two kilometers of pure wonder await you, from the gates of the castle to the Beaumont park, on this suspended terrace of 72 arches. The view is panoramic, so rare that it has been classified and protected since 1944 under the name "Horizons palois"! The bars, restaurants and tea rooms that you will meet have a very particular soul, do not hesitate to take place in terrace, they are among the most beautiful of the city. The boulevard des Pyrénées was created following a visit by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1808. He was the first to mention the possibility of creating a promenade along the mountains. It was not until 1893 that the mayor Henri Faisans began the work that was completed in 1899. The objective was to develop foreign tourism and to make the city pleasant for visitors, especially in winter: today, we know that it was a total success! The funicular, created in 1908, is no stranger to this, it connects the station to the city and keeps this unique charm of the beginning of the last century. Below, the river Gave crosses the plain, the view goes over the hillsides of the Jurançon vineyards and the Pyrenees on a clear day offer a masterful view. One never tires of walking along this avenue, strolling and contemplating the horizon, whatever the season. An obligatory place of passage where Palois and tourists meet!

LE QUAI DES PECEAUX
Read moreThis beautiful wharf derives its name from the échalas of the vineyard which occupied all the slopes of the surroundings of Modèle, until the end of the th century. These "guardians" were kept in the ground, to strengthen them. On the walk, we can see the last trace of the ramparts: A tower, whose corbeaux, supporting the round road, are still present. This picturesque area is characterized by water because Modèle is built on the edge of the Marne, the longest French river. The stone houses that have been built on each side, above its level, are reflected in the arms of the Marne and worth its nickname of Petite Venice. During the beautiful season, the colorful flowers that parent the windows of the houses offer a pleasant spectacle.
