The village of Aubeterre-sur-Dronne is a must-see, classified as one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in France"
"Alba Terra" can be discovered by strolling around... Here the Mediterranean vegetation, there the wooden balconies and terraced gardens delight the visitor. Through the sloping alleys one reaches small squares, which reveal fountains. Here you can get lost, bathed in a very special light. The whole complex is watched over by the (private) castle, which has retained its austere medieval look, which is given by the machicolation and high walls pierced with tiny openings. Classified as one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in France", Aubeterre is an essential stopover between Charente and Périgord.

c'est un intense plaisir qui saisit le promeneur dans les ruelles chargées d'histoire de ce merveilleux village ,édifié sur le rocher qui domine la rivière Dronne. La beauté du paysage contribue à l'émotion

Balade dans le Village 16390 Aubeterre-Sur-Dronne
Aubeterre-Sur-Dronne est un joli village pittoresque avec ses rues pentues et ses petites venelles qui sont autant de raccourcis potentiels. De belles maisons anciennes, dont certaines bien rénovées, des petites places agréables, comme la Place Ludovic Trarieux, et de beaux points de vue sur le village et son château émaillent une promenade très agréable. La bâtisse de l’Église Saint-Jacques est magnifique avec son fronton orné de chapiteaux finement sculptés et ses arcades à voussures. Elle mérite également la visite. A recommander !

Un agreable village, deux eglises splendides, des petits commercants accueillants et une qualité au rendez vous. Tout prete ici à la deambulation. N oubliez pas les appareils photo !
A village not to be missed, on history, magnificent where we were lucky enough to be guided by a passionate which passionate us for 2 visiting times. Friendly little alleys of visit one of which is discovered or other small restaurant or near the church St-Jacques a tasting of ice cream offered by English (delicious). Craftsmen who offer ceramics, work of drink (original)... and stalls, jewellery... without forgetting the magnificent residences, convent, castle and churches that the exceptional church St-Jean monolith. Basically a discovery and enchanting. You will return.
