PLACE DE L'OPÉRA
An important crossroads that forms a vast square from which you can admire the Palais Garnier in Paris
Designed by Prefect Haussmann during the Second Empire, this major crossroads converges with Avenue de l'Opéra, Rue de la Paix, Boulevard des Capucines on the west side, Rue Auber, Rue Halévy and Boulevard des Capucines on the east, forming a vast square from which to admire the Palais Garnier. The square is lined with opulent buildings and boutiques, as well as the former Grand Hôtel (now an Intercontinental hotel) and the famous Café de la Paix. Tourists flock here to take a photo in front of the Opéra.
