At the beginning of the 20th century, two sheds were still storing salt. In 1997, the Conservatoire de l'Espace Littoral bought a part of it which was rehabilitated. Today, the House, located in the heart of the Lilleau des Niges Nature Reserve, welcomes all those who wish to take a trip to the heart of nature. Located at the gates of the Nature Reserve, it offers an exhibition "Ré, île nature". The museographic space allows young and old alike to touch, breathe, observe and also listen. The tour is very playful.

Une très belle promenade
Réserve naturelle au nord de l'île, qui longe les marais salants. Balade de 2km à pied qu'on peut faire gratuitement. Il est fortement conseillé d'amener une paire de jumelles pour l'observation des oiseaux. Possibilité d'en louer à la Maison du Fier.

Une réserve naturelle exceptionnelle au milieu des marais salants. On peut y observer un écosystème préservé, notamment un grand nombre d'oiseaux marins. Des visites sont quotidiennement organisées par la maison du Fier.
