Accessible to children and adults alike, the museography makes the visitor an active participant in the exhibition. As soon as you enter, you become an athlete who must follow the course on the floor to reach the finish line! As you progress, you'll discover new themes. Discover Olympia, where the ancient games were held, understand why they were created and which buildings were built to host them. Then, meet the athletes who left their mark on their era, and discover the different events authorized over the centuries and competitions. Thanks to the use of facsimile objects, you can touch the ancient discus used for throwing, as well as weights and a javelin. Based on historical and archaeological discoveries, this immersive exhibition makes the link between ancient games and the modern Olympic Games, revived by a certain Pierre de Coubertin in 1896.

Opened more than ten years ago, Le Point du Jour is a unique centre in France. Turned towards photography, the place presents numerous exhibitions whose themes are as varied as, sometimes, unexpected. For example, the one on reconstruction, bringing together a few shots from the immediate post-war period, notably from Cherbourg. More than just an exhibition space, Le Point du Jour is also an art publishing centre, and welcomes artists in residence. High cultural place, it is also the setting for the awarding of the Roland Barthes Prize (born in Cherbourg!) focused on photographic research, and many meetings with photographers. It should be noted that the works published by Le Point du Jour are on sale on the premises and, as proof of its excellence, the place has been awarded the label of Centre d'art contemporain d'Intérêt national.
