Since 2014, the large Christmas crib has been installed in the Célestins church, which dates back to the 14th century and is now desacralized. This traditional crib, featuring over 500 santons, showcases the craft of santonnier, which has existed since the 18th century. During the Christmas season, don't hesitate to push open the doors of Avignon's churches, each featuring a different nativity scene from the mythical Provence! You can buy your santons at the Christmas market on Place de l'Horloge.
