Following previous exhibitions such as Bologna and the Autun pontifical in 2012, From Goya to Delacroix, the artistic relations of the Guillemardet family in 2014 and Eve or the mad temptation in 2017, the Rolin Museum continues its exceptional collaboration with the Louvre Museum in order to prepare a new exhibition dedicated to the flamboyant artistic patronage of great Autun families of the late Middle Ages. Thanks to this collaboration, some beautiful works are on loan and can be presented in this temporary exhibition. The Prince's Mirror highlights the artistic commissions of the high dignitaries of the time, in the wake of Dukes Philip the Bold, John the Fearless, Philip the Good and Charles the Bold. Within the framework of the exceptional partnership with the Louvre Museum, sculptures, art objects and paintings will soon be on display at the Rolin Museum in Autun, but also in Chalon-sur-Saône at the Denon Museum.

Read moreLaughing at the programme at the Cave Bear Museum: the Swiss collective Plonk & Replonk, known for its hilarious hijackings of old photographs and postcards, has seized it. Thirty-five images are on display and videos with the voice of Antoine de Caunes are presented in free access. But more than that, about ten objects from the museum were hijacked. The exhibition appeals to both children and adults: bear trap transformed into Roger Federer's tennis racket, cave toothbrush to keep breath fresh during the mating season - illustrating how long the battle between dominant male and elegant male has lasted for millennia! -The bald bear skull of the caves would attest that baldness is the probable cause of the extinction of the species... Absurd and poetic, hilarious improbabilities: a slice of good humour is present. Plonk & Replonk goodies are in store. Exposure may be prolonged.
Also noteworthy on the agenda: 4-5 July, prehistoric festival at the Musée de l'Ours des cavernes, with special activities.
