This iconic festival has been held every year at the end of January for 50 years. For four days, the city welcomes the world's greatest comic book artists and scriptwriters, as well as tens of thousands of fans. The National Comic Strip Center (CNBDI) symbolizes this dynamic also carried by Magélis-Pôle Image, the economic development program based on industries, technologies and trades of the image.

Over the years, the Brive Book Fair has become a not-to-be-missed event with around a hundred literary encounters. The event welcomes over 400 authors and illustrators of general literature, children's literature and comics. The Brive Book Fair is organized by the City of Brive, with the help of partner booksellers, faithful private partners, the support of the Centre national du livre, the Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine, the Département de la Corrèze and numerous media.

It's the only book village north of Paris. In 2006, Esquelbecq took up the challenge of becoming a book village. All year round, the village offers a wide range of events, including a book market, literary aperitif, reading salon, meetings with authors and exhibitions. The highlight of the year is the Nuit des livres, a major event held every year on the first weekend in July. It will take place on July 6, 2024. Esquelbecq's exceptional setting, a blend of rurality and interesting architectural buildings (Hallekerke Saint-Folquin, château...), is in keeping with the ambitions of facilitating access to literary expression and culture for as many people as possible, but also with the promise of visiting a pretty corner of culture in Flanders. It's impossible not to fall under the spell of Esquelbecq, village of books and heritage. Christmas and book market on November 16 and 17, 2024. The town of Darnétal has been hosting the comic book festival for about twenty years now. You just have to take the Teor (line 2) from Rouen city centre to reach the festival in only ten minutes. On the spot, hundreds of professionals and comic book fans meet in a friendly and festive atmosphere. New and used bookstores and temporary exhibitions are also present during this event, for the greatest pleasure of the enthusiasts!

Three days, three hundred authors and one guest of honour, animations throughout the city, meetings, conferences, exhibitions, literary awards, youth lounge and of course signing sessions, this is the formula. The fair in Limoges does not have the reputation of its briviste neighbour but, with its 60 000 visitors, it is one of the ten largest book fairs in France and is the occasion for a great deal of meetings.

Montaigu is the capital of culture for a weekend each year. Beyond the signing sessions and the exchanges between writers and readers, these 3 days are animated by debates and meetings... Montaigu makes it a point of honour to keep its generalist dimension in order to satisfy the tastes of all audiences: novels, historical works, local novels, literary essays, biographies, detective stories, comics, children's literature, art books, literary news...

The independent and alternative comic that has seen the last decade the flowering of artists like Marjane Satrapi or Johan Sfar has always been on the stern, so styles and techniques evolve. Born in today's missing magazines like Hara-Kiri, A Follow or still Screaming Screaming, the publishers'relay in small structure holds the torch high. This festival, which will celebrate its eight years in June, offers discoveries and signatures in an imperial bus plying the city and stops on the city squares, in independent bookstores or in the specialized rooms of the Free Fields. Also unusual landmarks such as unusual facades or the Orangerie of the Thabor Park are all discoveries of the city and new trends in the comic book of the 2000 s.

Book shows are everywhere or almost everywhere… and in Saint-Malo as elsewhere; However, the one holding open in the privateer city displays its difference. The «The Voyageurs» lounge comes every year, as a staging point, to mark the cultural dynamism of the region. This festival has been declared, since its creation, as the rendezvous for all lovers of literature. Over the past 20 years, more than guests have been invited from over countries, all kinds of literature that have come out of their fringants galleons to meet an enlightened amateur audience. This is how we live Jim Harrison, Russel Bank, Hugo Pratt, James Welch, Alvaro Mutis or JMG The Clézio debate with their readers. The real project is that to bring a certain idea of literature abroad, making Saint-Malo the pole of a vast network whose ramifications span the world. And this is how the festival "The Voyageurs" gave birth to other "European Book Meetings" in Bamako, Mali, Haiti… In Saint-Malo during that time, every year, a country, a state, a region of the world is in honour.
