This family-run institution on the central plateau opened its doors in 1895 and became the property of the Thomas family in 1929. We have been incredibly reasonable and have chosen Chai Tea (Indian milk and spice drink) and Cook Maori flavoured green tea (kiwi, apple, lemon). In this very cozy world, you will have the choice between tables and chairs on the ground Floor (outside also sunny days) and the floor with comfortable armchairs and sofas. A pleasant atmosphere where you love to come among friends. The bosses, Bruno and Céline, are easily engaged in a pleasant discussion which contributes greatly to the atmosphere of the site. You can also enjoy breakfast (excellent brunch with a wide choice)!

In the heart of Paris, under the arcades of the Louvre, Café Marly is an iconic address. Architecture, design and gastronomy are the hallmarks of this establishment, where you come as much to see - the Louvre pyramid is right in front of you - as to be seen. Manuela and Gaëlle serve small dishes, bagels, soups, cookies, muffins and cheesecakes. Trained in one of the best bakeries in Rennes, they are determined to serve good local produce, often organic, at low prices. The menu changes weekly, with winter offerings including veggie fajitas with roasted vegetables and pumpkin velouté. Fancy a real coffee? At Café 1802 (the year the first coffee machine was created), it's a barista (Fred) who serves you! He knows coffee inside out, and knows how to prepare it, decorate it (the latte art is amazing!) and serve it at just the right temperature. Espresso routinely dethrones all other tastings, but here we learn that you can enjoy your coffee as mild as an infusion, making it aromatic and bitter-free (the secret of the Chemex), or strong and cold (thanks to the cold drip extraction method lasting 7 to 8 hours). A dozen coffees have been selected from small producers from Guatemala to Ethiopia, via Burundi and Colombia, and Renaud roasts them on site every week! At lunchtime, you can enjoy a cookie, a hazelnut banana bread or a slice of toast. The place, a touch retro, is calm and perfect for work or a break with friends.

If the coffees are there in number, tasty and roasted on the spot, we have to admit that the prices are a bit high. It is still a warm place to eat a good pancake or waffle. It also has a canteen at lunchtime, with honest but unimaginative plates. It is therefore not discouraged, especially for tea or coffee lovers.

The Cup of Tea is a bookshop-tea room with a lovely terrace and a selection of independent booksellers. Ideal for a cup of tea with a good read. In the charming store, with its wood panelling and subdued lighting, you'll find books and bistro tables, and a staircase leading to a cosy, intimate mezzanine - a well-kept secret! The walls are decorated with monthly changing exhibitions. The tea menu features some forty flavors, many of them oriental and exotic from Lapsang Souchong, India, Kenya and Japan, as well as a variety of aromatic blends of green, jasmine and Hanoi monsoon teas, all served in good-sized teapots. You can accompany it with a few good cakes (tarts, cookies, muffins...). Service is warm and friendly.

This bakery - tea lounge will be perfect to come and eat a piece and relax while taking a look at the ski slopes that can be seen from the windows. The Comptoir des Colonies is an institution in Dijon. On market days, places are expensive, so much so that it is a popular tea room!
