Stay : South Korea in three weeks
Three weeks gives a good overview of Korea, at least for those who want to visit the country at full gallop. The whole point of this country is to take it easy. After four or five days in Seoul, to visit and recover from jet lag, here's an itinerary that will take you from Seoul, first to the south-west, then to the south-east and finally to the north-east.

Day 1: Seoul and its palaces
Steps: Seoul
Start with a visit to one of Seoul's northern palaces, first and foremost Gyeongbokgung, Changdeokgung and Deoksugung. Then consider a stroll through Myeong-dong and the Namdaemun market, which is smaller but much more typical than Dongdaemun.

Day 2: Seoul and its folk village
We'll continue with a visit to the folk village of Namsan before losing ourselves in the very new district of Apgujeong-dong.
Day 3: Seoul and its hanok
Steps: Seoul
During a stroll through Insadong (preferably on Sundays when the street is very busy), you'll need to push on to the adjoining Bukchon district, which is packed with hanok - those famous traditional Korean houses. You can then consider a trip to the western student districts to recover.

Day 4: Suwon and its fortress
Steps: Suwon
From Seoul, we will go to the south to visit its Fortress and its Korean folk village in the immediate vicinity of the city.
Day 5: Gongju and Buyeo, the former capitals of Baekje
During a visit to these two sites, you will discover two cities of modest size and relatively undeveloped.
Day 6: Namwon and the Gwanghallu Pavilion
Steps: Namwon
During a stroll around the pavilion, we will first learn about Korea's long and interesting history.

Day 7: Jogyesan and the fortress of Nagan
This is your chance to discover one of the country's most unique natural sites, classified as a nature park.
Day 8: Mokpo and its myriad islands
A day on the islands will allow you not only to take the air but also to taste delicious seafood, while starting to meet the fishermen.
Day 9: Jeju and its port
Steps: Jeju Ville
For those who have the means and the time, a ferry journey to Jeju Island is required. You will have to sleep in order to best appreciate its port life.
Day 10: Jeju and its beaches
During this day, we will end up on the island, including the discovery of the gatherers to the east of the island.
Day 11: Busan and its market
For a first day in the country's vibrant second largest city, priority will be given to the Jagalji Market and the Haeundae and Beomeosa beaches.
Day 12: Busan and the Tongdosa Monastery
Before leaving Busan, don't miss a visit to the monastery of Tongdosa, before why not (and depending on the season) bathing on one of the beautiful beaches of the city.

Day 13: Haïensa and its monastery
Steps: Parc National Gayasan
From Busan, head north to the country's most famous temple, Haiaensa. Here, you can enjoy the serenity of a natural setting.

Day 14: Kyeongju, Korea's first capital
Steps: Gyeongju
During this day, the remains of the kingdom of Silla will be visited, including the Bulguksa Temple and Seokguram cave.
GROTTE DE SEOKGURAM
Day 15: Gyeongju and its royal tombs
On this second day in the ancient capital, we'll take time to visit the royal tombs and some of the peninsula's most beautiful temples.
Day 16: Andong and its folk village
We're getting ever closer to Seoul, this time stopping en route at Andong. Here, we'll take time to see the UNESCO World Heritage folk village of Hahoe and its Confucian academies, notably Dosan Seowon.
Day 17: Seoraksan Natural Park
It is nothing less than one of the most beautiful natural parks in South Korea. It is beautiful in all seasons and offers immense hiking opportunities.
Day 18: Sokcho and its beach
Steps: Sokcho, Parc National Seoraksan
Easily accessible from Seoraksan Park, Socko boasts a magnificent beach ideal for enjoying the sand, as well as a beautiful market.
Day 19: Return to Seoul
For your return to Seoul, head for the banks of the newly redeveloped river. This walk is called the Cheonggyecheon.
Day 20: The DMZ
A visit to Korea would not be complete without a trip to the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) linking the two Koreas. It's a breathtaking visit.
Day 21: Seoul prior to departure
Steps: Seoul
Before finally leaving the Korean capital, think of making the latest shopping, for example in Burbot, or in the streets of the city centre, especially in the Insadong district.
