Day 1: Tasiilaq, east of Greenland

Steps: Tasiilaq, Kulusuk

Exploration of eastern Greenland. Arrival in Tasiilaq via Kulusuk airport (soon an airport will be built in Tasiilaq even). Count 3:15 a. m. between Paris and Reykjavik then 1:30 a. m. between Reykjavik and Kulusuk then 15 minutes by helicopter between Kulusuk and Tasiilaq (possible to take the boat also). Choose a small visit in this charming city where it is very easy to contact the inhabitants. Discover its harbor, its charming church on the heights, its museum or its engraving studio where you can admire local craftsmen making tupilaqs (mythological creatures of Inuit culture)! And why not, end the day with a nice hike in the valley of flowers or towards one of the beautiful waterfalls in the vicinity... Night in Tasiilaq.

Day 2: Immersion in the quotation of the village of Tiniteqilaaq

Excursion to the typical village of Tiniteqilaaq, a feeling of end of the world guaranteed. A beautiful example of a Greenlandic village that has kept practices of traditional life. People still live there from hunting and fishing. Possibility to sleep on the spot in a cabin and soon in a guesthouse. The perfect opportunity to observe, the time of travel, huge icebergs or old camps! Night in Tiniteqilaaq.

Day 3: Visit of Nuuk, capital of Greenland

Steps: Nuuk, Tasiilaq

Return to Tasiilaq to return to the capital. In Nuuk, visit the colonial port comprising the smallest cathedral in the world, the statue of Hans Egede, the Kittat Museum economuseum dedicated to the technique of manufacturing the traditional garment sewn by the women or the fascinating national museum comprising the famous Inuit mummies dating from 1475 and discovered in 1972 in Qilakitsoq near Uuummannaq! A whole bunch of nice shops as well as the important Katuaq cultural centre in the city centre will entertain you a little late afternoon before going dinner at the delicious Sarfalik Restaurant of Hotel Hans Egede on the main Avenue. Night in Nuuk.

Day 4: Excursion to Qoornoq in breathtaking landscapes

Book a day round for Qoornoq, perfect for travellers looking for a combination of physical activity and relaxing around a good meal. After a 4-hour hike in the vicinity of Nuuk, through several waterfalls with breathtaking views of the fjord and Sermitsiaq mountain, try fishing a fish during your trip to Qooqqut to make it directly cooked on site! Little more: possibility to see whales. Night in Nuuk.

Day 5: Discovery of Kangerlussuaq

Steps: Narsaq, Kanger Lussuaq

Leave for Kangerlussuaq. Choose the unavoidable bus excursion to the ice cap while keeping an eye on the road looking for muskox! If you have time, try to fly over the Inlandsis - unique experience! - or, if not, go to the city, and why not, from its museum which traces the history of the American base or the Danish Institute of Meteorology studying radiation, the atmosphere in the polar zone and the ozone layer. Possibility to work your swing at the golf course nearby! Night in Kangerlussuaq.

Day 6: Arrival at the "capital of icebergs"

Steps: Ilulissat

Guided tour of Ilulissat, possibly accompanied by a local guide, to discover the old town, the old Danish colonial houses, the port and the church of Sion erected in 1779. Why not take the opportunity to visit the house of the great explorer and ethnologist Knud Rasmussen (1879-1933). At the end of the afternoon, try to sign up for a kaffemik to meet Greenlanders over a cup of coffee with a cake or a Greenlandic speciality. Ideally end the day, during the summer, with a midnight cruise in the middle of icebergs.

Day 7: Various activities in Ilulissat

Steps: Ilulissat

Breakfast at the hotel. Free day with optional activities according to budget but also weather: fly over the Inlandsis by helicopter (striking), go to a kayak in the middle of the icebergs at the risk of being disturbed by the whale's breath (possible to do so evenly evenings evenings also during summer), hike in the winter dog or simply hike by the fjord in order to observe on a bench the majestic iceberg scroll... To discover Greenlandic gastronomy, test the incredible Greenlandic Buffet at Hotel Icefjord: a range of different specialties depending on the arrival (bear, whale, seal, halibut, cod, shellfish, Saint-Jacques...). The barbecue on the terrace of the Hotel Artic is also worth a visit, known for its muskox or reindeer barns.

Day 8: Departure on cruise

Steps: Qaqortoq

Take the coastal express Umiaq Arctic Umiaq Lines for a 4-day cruise to southern Greenland, terminus in Qaqortoq.

Day 9: Exploration of Greenland's lost villages

Steps: Paamiut, Maniitsoq

The cruise is a great way to meet the locals and discover a multitude of small villages that are difficult to reach like Kangaamiut, Maniitsoq, Qeqertarsuatsiaat, Paamiut or Arsuk. Come and discover them.

Day 10: Activities and discoveries over the stopovers

Many visits and excursions are offered by a guide from the ferry company, don't miss them!

Day 11: Balade in the charming city of Qaqortoq

Steps: Narsaq, Qaqortoq

Terminal Terminus. Take the time to stroll through Qaqortoq, deemed to be one of the most beautiful cities in the country. Take your bathing suit to bathe in Uunartoq hot springs. Enjoy the breathtaking beauty of icebergs in the cold waters of the fjord... The magnificent Viking ruins of the church of Hvalsey also deserve a detour in the region. Night in Qaqortoq.

Day 12: Hiking around Igaliku

Steps: Igaliku

Departure for the small village of Igaliku where you can discover the ruins of Gardar but above all explore the magnificent Tunulliarfik Fjord. The area's best hiking opportunities are the best in the region. Night in Igaliku.

Day 13: Experience in local agricultural life

Steps: Qaqortoq, Narsarsuaq, Qassiarsuk

. . Take advantage of your last night on a farm in the surroundings, if possible in Ipiutak (by a French) or in Qassiarsuk (opposite Narsarsuaq) to discover local farm life, including the École school and experimental station.

Day 14: Last glacial visions in Narsarsuaq

Steps: Narsarsuaq

Departure from Narsarsuaq Airport. Take a boat trip to the Qooroq ice fjord for a last "shoot" of icebergs!
