  • Colmar
  • Eguisheim
  • Munster
  • Colmar
  • Ribeauvillé
  • Saint-Hippolyte
  • Kaysersberg
  • Marlenheim

Day 1: Between mountains and vineyards

Steps: Colmar, Eguisheim, Munster

In Colmar, we have a traditional breakfast, with for example, a typical Alsatian pastry, the croissant or the chocolate bread covered with sugar. We leave then for the valley of Munster to discover the House of the Cheese which proposes a museum and tastings around this inescapable. We go up then at midday to the Farm to the Reindeers, where we have a very good lunch and where we mix with the faithful friends of the Santa Claus. Finally, on the way down, we stop in small cellars before passing by Eguisheim, elected most beautiful village of France.

Day 2: Between vineyards and castles

Steps: Colmar, Ribeauvillé, Saint-Hippolyte, Kaysersberg

It all starts at the Haut-Koenigsbourg castle, which you can enjoy during a visit, either free or guided. To whet your appetite, we stop in Saint-Hippolyte at a wine shop before having lunch in one of the many typical restaurants of the Wine Route. The small digestive walk is done in Ribeauvillé with a visit of its three castles. Between Ribeauvillé and Kaysersberg, also elected favorite village of the French, we can stop in a cellar or wait until we reach Colmar for a snack around a pastry shop with a view on the Little Venice.

Day 3: Follow the wine route

Steps: Marlenheim

The Alsace Wine Route is the oldest in France! You can visit picturesque villages, magnificent landscapes and incredible wine cities while meeting passionate wine growers. Marlenheim is the gateway to this wine route. If you can, choose the autumn because the landscape is incredible with its golden vine leaves. If you want to make the most of the winegrowers, be careful and don't drive after several tastings. Moreover, we advise you to visit the wineries in the morning, when there are fewer people, and to limit yourself to four. In fact, in addition to the necessary moderation of alcohol consumption, the wines are so rich in aromas that they cannot be fully appreciated if you have tasted too much.
To enjoy the wine route by bike, take the Véloroute du Vignoble d'Alsace which passes by castles, typical villages and vineyards of different grape varieties with many explanatory panels. This itinerary is 131.5 kilometers long and joins a section of the EuroVélo5. It follows old railroads and parts of the old Roman road, far from traffic and in the middle of nature.
Numerous tourist offices in the region offer ecotourism trips in the vineyards. Some winegrowers offer to discover the animals that live on their land, to enjoy an unusual dinner on the estate, to play games and learn about the profession, or even to meditate and develop your 5 senses! The winegrower's interludes of the Wine Route offer these activities combined with tastings of cheese, wine or traditional meals and you can even take a trip through the vineyards in a convertible bus, with your hair blowing in the wind!
