Read moreSix kilometers of wooden footbridges and galleries carved out of the rock allow you to discover these steep gorges, at the bottom of which the torrent rushes along, forming pools and waterfalls. This may be a tricky climb for people who are very prone to vertigo. At the end of the gorge, you reach the monastery of Sankt Georgenberg, Tyrol's oldest pilgrimage site, with two churches and a restaurant serving traditional cuisine. A relatively easy hike that offers splendid views of waterfalls and other features.

Read moreFrom the lower Eggalm station in Tux, climb to the Torsee mountain lake, passing through the hamlets of Gemais and Nasse Tuxalm. The slightly more strenuous hike continues over the Ramsjoch pass (2,508 m) and the Grüblspitze summit (2,394 m), before returning to the Eggalm upper station, where the cable car takes you back to Tux. Of course, this hike can also be done in the opposite direction, i.e. downhill! Good footwear, binoculars, water, nuts and dried fruit and rain gear are essential!

Read moreAbove the village of Mösern, the Möserer See nature reserve is ideal for hiking, but also for swimming: this high-altitude lake can reach temperatures of 25°C in summer! Several rest areas have been laid out along its shores. An ideal place to rest and swim: you can swim to the other side of the lake. Pack a picnic lunch and you're off for a great day out. It's also a great place for birdwatching.

Read moreThe gorge offers a 15 km hike, starting from Scharnitz. You follow the course of the River Isar to the entrance to the gorge, which can be reached via a charming footpath. This in itself makes for a pleasant walk, along which you can stop to enjoy a few pebbled beaches. Then on to the Gleirschklamm Gorge, one of the most beautiful wild gorges in the Karwendel massif. Narrow and deep, they are truly spectacular, but should be avoided if you're prone to vertigo.

Allow 2 hours, but more if you take a picnic and plan to walk around the lake and relax.

A suspension bridge, platforms and stairs have been built to allow you to discover this grandiose site. The most intrepid will choose the via ferrata which runs alongside the waterfall. From May to October, the waterfall is illuminated every Wednesday evening until midnight. A spectacular and very popular tourist site.
