RUINS OF THIERBERG CASTLE (THIERBERGRUINE)
Small chapel featuring an original Arab-style fresco of the Nativity.
The ruins are reached by a path of the cross, which is easy to walk, even for children. This castle, built from 1280 onwards, was the Freundsberger family home. The remains consist of a truncated keep and a chapel with a pretty, pointed bell tower, which has been a place of pilgrimage since 1580. The chapel houses an original Arab-style fresco of the Nativity and organizes exhibitions. As for the keep, it has become a panoramic observation tower with free access.
