As its name suggests, this fine address north of downtown is very much French. This is reflected in the menu, which is sure to please all those nostalgic for the country and lovers of good food. Familiar names on the menu: filet de boeuf, salmon with shrimp risotto, cordon bleu, duck breast, filet mignon, rack of lamb, rabbit with prunes or pavé de chevreuil, everything here is reminiscent of France and a tribute to its gastronomy. The interior decor is sober and the plates are well laid out. The service is young and dynamic.

The Old Bookbinders decided to combine the best of British and French bistro culture. The result is convincing, and it's hard to categorize this resolutely British pub that offers successful French cuisine. The interior is as traditional as can be, with dark wood, bric-a-brac and real ales at the counter. The dishes, on the other hand, are drawn from south of the Channel, and include savoury crêpes, beef bourguignon, escargots, entrecôtes frites... or the so-British minted lamb!

Often considered one of Brighton's best cafés, Cafe Coho is undeniably a great place for breakfast and brunch. Young, hip and modern, its two-room space fills easily with locals and tourists alike. It's also an ideal address for a hot drink or pastry. The atmosphere is warm and inviting in this lovable stopover just the way you like it. The café has even won awards for its espresso. It's the best pub in the surrounding lanes, with food that's a little more sophisticated than usual in this kind of establishment, and beers that are local, mainly from the South East and Brighton. The interior is very traditional, which makes it a good stop-off point on a visit to this typical neighborhood. And the service is particularly friendly, which doesn't spoil anything.
