This newly opened restaurant specializes in Joseon-era food but also offers some of the most traditional Korean dishes. The famous bossam, boiled pork cut into thin slices; jongugjang, fermented soybeans that are boiled. To the indisputable quality of the food is added the kindness and attention of the family who hold this restaurant hand in hand: the son in front of the stove, the daughter in the dining room. Be careful, however, the restaurant does not serve very late.

Specialized in meat, including oriroseu (grilled duck meat), famous enough.

This establishment offers us dishes around the sea, as its name, bada, indicates. At the restaurant's command, two adorable old women who prepare stews and cassolettes of all kinds, each with a more bewitching smell than the other. Be careful it is better to appreciate and support spicy dishes because they are all very spicy. The very neat setting, in a traditional house, does not detract from the pleasure of dining here, as do the prices, which are not excessive. An excellent address, then!

This restaurant has long been known throughout the city for its Hanjeongsiks, traditional Korean menus. Indeed, it could hardly be more traditional. You can enjoy raw or well-cooked beef, fish, but also dozens of banchan (side dishes), all more typical than the others. It is recommended to go together. Of course, it is on the ground that we eat here. Many families come to celebrate their children's 2nd birthday. If you are lucky you will be able to see this charming ceremony.

A place not to miss! It is a large grilled meat restaurant in a pleasant traditional setting. There are piri concerts, the Korean flute. It is a little hard to find (in an alley across the street that runs along the lively district of the centre; show the address or call).

You can enjoy them braised, with soy sauce or spicy sauce, and garnished with sesame seeds. To accompany all this, we advise you to also order one of the fish cake soups: the earth-sea mixture surprises and detonates! A small glass of soju will also be perfect with it. As this is a franchise, you can find them everywhere in the city and all over Korea as well.

This restaurant has the specificity of being run by Buddhist monks (whose kindness and human warmth are unrivalled). No fuss, here we are offered a buffet (very copious) which includes a good part of the basics of Korean food: rice, noodles, soups, raw or marinated vegetables. It is totally suitable for vegetarians (which is rare in South Korea) but satisfies carnivores just as much. For a buffet the quality is really there. This restaurant is good, cheap, it's a must-see in the city.

Charming setting and decoration for this two-in-one establishment! It is both a restaurant offering international cuisine and a café, where you can relax with a drink. The homemade hamburgers and salads are delicious and very generously served. So don't hesitate. If you just want to have a good hot drink then the caramel hot chocolate should make you succumb. The prices are rather reasonable considering the quality!

In this establishment, the products highlighted are the side dishes. There are more than twenty of them and they are all plants, roots or medicinal herbs (which the region has in abundance). All of them have different flavours of course and it is very surprising to see everything that can be eaten (and that we have never thought of: ferns stems, lotus leaves...). It is a real vegetable culinary epic to discover. To accompany all this (in a more consistent way), the establishment offers a very good spicy chicken.

As can be seen from the squirrel drawings on the façade, this restaurant is dedicated to hazelnuts. In the form of jelly, to accompany salads or to perfume broths, hazelnuts are the restaurant's star ingredient. You can enjoy a delicious mokbossam, which consists of boiled pork... with hazelnuts and various salad leaves, garlic and chili pepper. It's up to you to play by composing your appetizers. We also enjoy many vegetables whose quality makes the region very proud. Go on an empty stomach because it will come out full.

The owner, who is also the cook, will prepare fabulous and delicious traditional meals for you, most of her ingredients being taken from the large jars of her inspiration that she stores in the back of her restaurant. Great surprise, you can even consume alcohol from...... Bamboo, what a surprise! It's a little strong, but delicious and original. To be consumed in moderation as always. Almost everyone can direct you to this restaurant. A guarantee of its popularity and quality, isn't it?

Here you can enjoy one of the typical dishes of the city, the kongnamulgukbap. It is a soup flavoured with anchovies, green onions and sesame oil in which rice is added, but especially soya sprouts (they are the speciality of the city of Jeonju). This soup is very famous in South Korea for its "anti hangover" effect after watered evenings. We'll let you be the judge of that! It is a very good place to eat well and for a very low price.

We must not stop at the not very pleasant front of the establishment. Clothes don't make the man. Here, you can experience one of the most surprising and exotic classics of Korean culinary culture: raw octopuses (and it must be said, which are still wriggling). Finely cut and seasoned with sesame oil, they are delicious. It is a truly unique experience. Don't worry, the restaurant also offers cooked versions. For those who are intrigued by the adventure, a word of advice: chew well!

Here, we are served a dish that is not very well known to travellers. This is yukgejang (육개장), a spicy soup with leeks and shredded beef. To taste it Korean style, you pour your bowl of rice into it. Several versions are proposed, the classic one, a more full-bodied one or a "white" version, i.e. not spicy. For the record, you will never see many people because this dish is traditionally eaten at funerals.

In an atmosphere and with a very successful "boat hold" type decoration, you will be served here a succulent land-sea plancha. It combines seafood, pork belly, mushrooms and soya sprouts. These flavours, which are very different, soak up each other and blend perfectly together. The best way is to finish the meal with fried rice, which will be fried with the same plancha, thus perfuming the rice with all the flavours of grilled meats. The admiral watches over us, so we allow ourselves, to accompany the dish, one or two small glasses of soju.

Just at the entrance of the restaurant are posted the Dolhareubang statues. They welcome visitors who will enter this place where plants reign. The "Smart Farm" sign on the front immediately puts the chip in our ear before it makes our mouth water. In an elegant and wooded decoration, you can enjoy grilled fish, pork or spicy octopus. But above all, we can admire the production of salads and herbs used to prepare meals. The terrace with a view of the sea completes the charm of this place.

As soon as you enter the restaurant, you can see 2-3 ajuma busy cooking and serving the impressive number of customers who come to this restaurant every day. It's original, but yes, the kitchens face the street. The star dish of the house is the hanjeobsi sundae (순대한접시). It is a hot soup made from sundae which are Korean puddings prepared with intestines and vegetables. Yes, the word "intestine" may put off many people, but we assure you that the flavour of this soup is deliciously unforgettable.

After crossing a charming little alley, you will come across this establishment, a successful mix between a modern and traditional structure. Atmosphere at the rendezvous for this restaurant which combines this function as much as that of a place to have a drink. On the menu of jeon (Korean pancakes), stews galore... to liven things up, you can let yourself be tempted by one of the fragrant makgeolli (rice wine) that the house offers. The one with grapefruit conquered us! A very typical address, very nice, 100% Korean.
