SNCF

The Société nationale des chemins de fer français (SNCF) is the French public railway company. Born in 1937 from the merger of several companies (Nord, Est, Midi, etc.), it contributes a lot to the development of rail transport with the inauguration of the TGV in 1981. The SNCF operates the national network via several types of trains: TER between localities, InterCités and TGV between the main cities, RER and suburban trains in the Paris region. Several international high-speed lines: Eurostar, Lyria, Thalys, Thello, etc.
