The Saint-Simon Hotel is the only Renaissance style monument in Angoulême. It is a special hotel built in the th century which became the possession of the family of Saint-Simon in the th century. Cross the porch and enter the small courtyard to admire the facade of this building, the pilasters are decorated with many geometric shapes. Watch every detail carefully, you won't be surprised by your surprises. Today, the Hotel Saint-Simon is home to Via Heritage, which promotes culture in Charente, which is no coincidence.

The museum, located in the former presbytery, presents rooms (bedroom of the priest, pieces of the master altar), where about 500 objects are presented with an exhibition of sacerdotal clothes. Note that Esse and Abzac are the only parishes to perpetuate a centenary tradition every seven years: show to popular devotion the relics of the holy saints. The latest expositions took place in 2009. The next will therefore take place in 2016.

Located at the entrance to the public garden, this museum is located in the Dupuy hotel of Angeac, built around 1838. It also houses works from the th and th centuries, from Mannerism to Fauvism and Contemporary Art, or charentais artists. His collection of paintings from schools in the North testifies to the fruitful relationship between the city and the Netherlands which, let us remember, originated in the invention of cognac! The collection of decorative art objects, mainly in Art Nouveau style, is remarkable because it consists of the glass pieces of Emile Gallé, Daum, Jean Lalique. Pottery, ceramics, tiles, furniture, objects and caps illustrate local traditions. Prehistoric collections will delight the passionate children of dinosaurs… and they are many!
