G'SUNDGO

Craft brewery and microbrewery
5/5
4 reviews

Once you've tasted a G'Sundgo, you'll never drink beer the same way again. There are the classics, like Bonde and Co, a Belgian-style beer with coriander grains, Ambrée d'André, Elsass Porter, an English-style beer, and Elsass IPA. And specials, depending on the season. Ginger in February, cherry in May, elderberry and, of course, the festive Christmas cuvée. The small company, whose beers are classified as AB organic, favors short distribution circuits, and distributes to around twenty outlets in the region.

A relevant idea, to say the least, when you know that our region brews 60% of the French production.

Plots of land on the Grand Cru Altenberg de Bergheim, but also on the localities of Buehl, Pflaenzer, Haguenau, Brandhurst and a few others, enable the estate to produce 75,000 bottles of wine from the 7 Alsatian grape varieties, year in, year out. The wines are produced in several ranges: Vins de Terroirs, Vins en Barrique, Vins d'Exception, Grands Crus and Crémants d'Alsace. Among the cuvées of the moment to be tasted during your visit to Domaine Halbeisen : muscat Terra Aurea

Seven generations have lovingly cultivated the 130 hectares of the Domaines, shaping the hillsides of Guebwiller. Anxious to share their vision of a respectful and responsible viticulture, the managers have developed a wine tourism offer which is worth the detour: visit of the vineyards, the cellars and tasting of the wines of the exploitation.

The Klur family's Ecolieu is an unusual and friendly place. There is a coworking area, ecological lodgings, a micro-farm, a temporary bistro (open from May to September) and a tasting cellar where you can enjoy a very friendly atmosphere! Converted to organic cultivation in 1999, the Klur Vineyard itself currently covers 1.5 ha on the Wineck-Schlossberg Grand Cru and the Hinterburg area: Francine and Clément Klur have leased the 6 ha that completed their estate in Katzenthal. A decision taken with a view to starting a "joyful decline" to better concentrate on the development of an ultra-tight range of wines since the 2017 vintage now has only 5 references, 100% natural. The names of the wines reflect their respective characters: Il y a de l'Or dans l'Air (orange maceration wine), Appel d'Air (high altitude Riesling), Un Air de Famille (pinot noir from Hinterburg), Ô Grand Air (Riesling Grand Cru Wineck-Schlossberg) and Pet en l'Air (natural sparkling wine made from Riesling and Muscat). Goodness knows no lie: Élisa, the daughter of Clément and Francine Klur, now runs the family's micro domain (the smallest biodynamic vineyard in Alsace!) and she makes a new range of free wines. The 2019 vintage already looks very promising! To be followed via tackglou.net, Elisa Klur's website, which also presents her eco-designed jewellery made from recycled gold and silver. We predict a bright future for this charming winegrower-jeweller!

You can therefore taste the production as soon as it has matured with the two draught beers offered for tasting. Since 1948, this estate is the pride of the Krick family. With a surface area of 14 ha, it extends partly on the Grand Cru du Hengst in Wintzenheim as well as on the communes of Ingersheim, Colmar, Turckheim and Wihr-au-Val. This great variety of soils allows the Hubert Krick estate to produce the whole range of Alsace wines (sylvaner, pinot blanc, riesling, muscat, pinot gris, gewurztraminer and pinot noir), as well as late harvest wines, Sélections de Grains Nobles and Crémants (brut, rosé, blanc de noirs) of excellent quality.

Lovers of divine nectars, a visit to this estate is a must! Its name is a nod to the lunar calendar which is a reference in biodynamic viticulture. The wines are matured in barrels for 12 months before being offered for tasting. Sparkling wines, local wines, grands crus and spirits will seduce you with their authenticity as well as their racy elegance and poetic names: Crémant Éclipse (brut nature zero dosage), Gewurztraminer Mer du Nectar (Vendanges Tardives), Pinot Gris Lune de Miel (Sélection de Grains Nobles).
