DREAM AND MAGIC OF THE RAIL
Read moreThis association proposes to discover its model "Dream and Magic du Rail", exposed 200 m from the train station. This exceptional achievement has been introduced throughout France, and even abroad. The following figures tend to reflect: 520 m of tracks, 102 switches, 1 260 m of fiber optic, 210 light and medium voltage points, 130 km of electric wire, 1 250 characters, 170 individual houses, 20 administrative buildings… and the imaginary and magnificent railway station of Beauty-sur-Ariège. Using, always very discreet, the most modern techniques of sound, light and animation, it is a true show sound and light. This minimalist promenade in the Upper Ariège valley also passes through the castles of Foix, Miglos, Montségur, the Renowned cave, the ramparts of Tarascon, the Barrage dam and many famous sights or monuments. But you will also discover, on the occasion of your visit, a real postal car rental car that stopped his travels in 1995, these postal workers who rang letters while the train was driving. And just next, a locomotive BB 4736, built in 1934 in Tarbes and remained in service until 1995. Don't stay on the dock!

MUSÉE DES COLPORTEURS
Read moreRight from the wooden storefront, we know we're in for a trip back in time! Hardware, grocery, hosiery... We're standing in front of the home of Maurice Souquet (a visionary in his day). In the 19th and 20th centuries, this store, which closed in the 50s, was the "hub" for peddlers, who stocked up on supplies before setting off to sell their wares on the roads and paths of the many valleys, on their way to the most remote villages. This interesting museum is entirely dedicated to them. A must-see!
