Want to get away from it all without leaving the city? Metz's 5.4-hectare lake is perfect. Stroll, cycle or rollerblade around it, and don't forget to stop for a photo in front of the torii, the Japanese gate, with the Cathedral in the background. Bordered by green spaces, it's an ideal place to relax with family or friends. And don't miss a trip to the marina, where you can hire boats - pedal or electric - and take a trip on the Moselle River.

Accessible only to pedestrians or cyclists to ensure peace and quiet, there are playgrounds and several relaxation areas. It is an ideal place for families, especially since it is possible to access it with a stroller. For the pleasures of water, it is possible to rent a "pedal boat" (from 2 to 6 seats) or a classic pedal boat to sail on the lake where swimming is prohibited. You can also go for a walk in the surrounding forest in a gyro-pod! Practical: a small restaurant is regularly open at the galleon.

An ideal site for fishing, the pond also offers peaceful spots and walking trails for observing the flora and fauna. The Langatte leisure park is a lively place, with a beach for swimming and sporting activities in summer, including paddleboating, pedal boating, canoeing, kayaking and a waterslide. It's also possible to enjoy the surrounding nature on a boat or while fishing on the pond. Near the pond, a multi-purpose nautical center that welcomes schoolchildren, the general public, sports clubs and associations to its two pools - sports and balneotherapy - for sport and relaxation. Fun facilities include a counter-current river, waterfall, 60 m slide and paddling pool. On sunny days, the pool roof can be partially opened to provide a planted solarium, sandboxes and volleyball court. The aquatic center even organizes aqua'nniversaries.

This sailing club is for members only. Located in Rhodes, opposite the entrance to the road leading to the Parc Animalier de Sainte-Croix, it caters for resident and visiting yachtsmen, canoeists, windsurfers and those simply coming for a picnic. Clubhouse, dining room, kitchen, workshop, shower, barbecue... Possibility of mooring a fishing boat.

The Etang de Gondrexange covers an area of 700 hectares, rich in biodiversity. Numerous activities have developed around the pond, including hiking, cycling, mountain biking and nature observation. Created by fish-farming monks in the Middle Ages, the pond is also a popular fishing spot for connoisseurs who come to track pike-perch, pike, carp and perch. The Aquarives aquatic center is a family pool offering a sports pool with swim lines, a play pool for learning and leisure, a play lagoon for the safe splashing of toddlers and a wellness area reserved for adults (sauna, steam room). Water sports sessions are also scheduled (aquafitness, aquabike), for friendly moments with music. Not forgetting the outdoor pool with a slide and cardio fitness area!

This multi-purpose complex revolves around a 250-hectare artificial pond that regulates the level of the Sarre canal. It owes its nickname of Lac Vert (Green Lake) to its wooded setting and the reflection of the trees in the water. On the land side, you can play tennis, soccer, basketball and archery, among other activities, thanks to the many facilities on offer and an indoor multi-sport complex, and even relax on the landscaped beach. On the beach side, you'll find a wide range of services, including children's play areas, a beach volleyball court, restaurants, an ice-cream parlour, a relaxation area and a summer stage for entertainment and concerts, all worthy of a real seaside resort. On the lake side, there's a wealth of activities including sailing, water-skiing, canoeing, catamaraning, paddle-boating and even an inflatable structure on the water to delight children. Swimming is supervised in summer. Numerous events take place on the site, including the Triathlon and other summer activities. The leisure park also offers a full range of accommodation for campers, motor-home users, families (chalets) and groups/holiday camps, thanks to the Centre Nature et Sport, equipped with group accommodation and qualified staff to welcome children. This marina, with some forty berths, enjoys a calm, green setting. Boaters have access to multi-service terminals for water and electricity. A sanitary block equipped with showers and a washing machine meets the needs of visiting boats. Children's play area with a beautiful wooden boat for playing pirates and captains. Year-round or overnight mooring available. Nearby, enjoy the friendly Café du Port and the Lac Vert leisure park. Cyclists passing through will find a repair station for minor breakdowns.

Choose to rent a boat without a licence in Hesse. From there, set off on the Saar Canal to discover the Sarrebourg region, the land of historic Lorraine, between the Vosges and Alsace, or on the Marne-Rhine Canal towards Strasbourg and its cathedral, crossing a region of marshes where you come across fishermen and villages with half-timbered houses. In Rhodes, there's another club for regatta enthusiasts, with a crane for launching yachts. SYR was founded in 1961 as an international sailing and training center for all ages, with an emphasis on youth training. Today, it has 263 members, including 40 youngsters.

Whether you're staying in a cottage or visiting for the day, there's no limit to the activities on offer at Center Parcs les Trois Forêts. A day ticket allows you to enjoy this immense space of nature and games. Aqua Mundo, its exceptional water park, offers water at 29°C all year round and 5,000 m² of facilities, including a 190 m slide, a wild river, a bubble bath and a wave pool. This base is dedicated to sailing and wind sports. Diving and other underwater sports are also practiced here. It's an offshoot and spot of ACAL, the Aquatic Club d'Alsace et de Lorraine, best known for wingfoil. The base remains open as long as weather conditions permit. The large clubhouse room is at your disposal for changing, sheltered from the wind and rain. If you're not yet a member of ACAL but would like to join the team, you can sign up on site.

This little stopover is the ideal place to recharge your batteries after a journey by boat, bike or on foot. Equipped with picnic tables, a barbecue, petanque courts and a pontoon for easy access to the mainland once the boats are moored. It's all part of a peaceful, relaxing experience.
