About fifty kilometres from Strasbourg, between the Vosges, the foothills and the plains, small valleys, including the Zorn valley, invite you to contemplate. This is where the Aéro-Zorn Paragliding and Paramotor Club lives, which has about sixty members, mainly between Dabo in Moselle and Saverne in Bas-Rhin. The airfield was created in 1911 for pilot training and military observation of the French/German border zone on the eve of the First World War. Subsequently, civilian aeronautical activities were developed. The Sarrebourg-Buhl airfield is home to the Sarrebourg regional flying club, founded in 1947 by Henri Metz, a locksmith born in Sarrebourg in 1892, who learned to fly during his military service in the German army. Today, it is a dynamic intercommunal airfield and the last airfield in Moselle open to public air traffic. It has two runways running south-north, one asphalt runway 740 m long and 20 m wide, and one grass runway 770 m long and 80 m wide. There is also a parking area, a hangar and a fuel and lubricant station. It is used for leisure and tourism activities: light aviation and model aircraft...

The Aeroclub de Sarrebourg-Buhl welcomes you to the Henri Metz aerodrome near Sarrebourg, with a fleet of gliders for training, practice flights, pleasure or performance. Geeks can practise their skills on the flight simulator, a two-seater, dual-control training aid that reproduces the ergonomics of a glider cabin, with all the controls of a real glider: stick, airbrakes, landing gear. The flight environment is projected onto a wall using a video projector.

After just a few months' experience, you'll be able to show your family around Saarbrücken's magnificent forests, lakes and Vosges mountains, as seen from the air.
