On foot or by bike, the 23 km signposted route (accessible to all levels) follows the course of the River Orne as closely as possible. A bucolic landscape and judicious layout allow you to discover this former iron and steel valley. Some footbridges have been renovated and others created to take you from one bank to the other. Take advantage of the beauty of the surroundings for a picnic stop or a moment of contemplation. For soccer fans, you'll pass by the Joeuf stadium where Platini scored his first goals. Right bank, departure from Thionville. Follow the canal as far as Yutz, then follow the river through its loop. From Basse-Ham, you reach Koenigsmacker.

Left bank, departure from Manom. But you can also reach the banks at Thionville, below the town hall. This paved road links Manom to Remich in Luxembourg for just over 50 km.

Rive et coeur de ville en fête: an event not to be missed during the summer months (July-August). It's organized by the city of Thionville, and the festive atmosphere is guaranteed! On the riverbanks, it's time for festivities and relaxation. On Thionville's quaysides, the little booths are packed with drinks, ice creams and other delicacies. Children can enjoy a range of fun and sporting activities. As for the lazier ones, they can simply settle down with a book on the deckchairs set up for the occasion. But be warned: it'll be harder to get back on the bike afterwards!

56 km from Lutzelbourg to Strasbourg, via Saverne. You can also cycle along the canal from the inclined plane to Strasbourg cathedral: a beautiful 50 km route. Find out more at the tourist office. In any case, Lutzelbourg's countless attractive cycle paths promise pleasant rides. There's something for all tastes and levels: easy, intermediate and difficult. You'll discover the countryside around the town in a whole new way.

The local environment is conducive to outdoor sports, and offers both amateur and experienced cyclists a host of attractive routes. From Sarrebourg, you can cycle along rural landscapes, meadows, forests and typical Lorraine villages in just 12 km. With little difficulty, it's also ideal for walkers, joggers and rollerbladers to enjoy the country air of the Bièvre Valley.

The hamlet of lodgings of Sarrebourg values the diversity of its environment! The leisure center offers a framework adapted for nautical activities and the discovery of nature, starting point for the pedestrian or cyclist hikes of the area. Bicycles are available for rent. Starting out from the Camping du Felsberg, six mountain bike trails allow you to discover the Naborian countryside along its most beautiful paths. The routes are suitable for cyclists of all levels, and the first two are even rated "very easy". On these rides, you'll find everything that makes the Moselle so unique and attractive, including the state forest of Saint-Avold, remnants of the Maginot Line, traces of the mining past and lakes. Bikes and helmets are available for hire at the mountain bike base.

This cyclo-tourism network between France and Germany comprises over 330 km of cycle routes. It connects a number of tourist attractions in East Moselle and the Saarland, including the La Mine museum at Carreau Wendel, the Bliesbruck-Reinheim archaeological park, the Sarreguemines earthenware circuit, Saarbrücken's historic city center and the Völklingen steelworks. On the French side, the tourist information centers in Sarreguemines, Forbach and Sarralbe can provide two-wheeled tourism aficionados with all the information they need.

Get on your bike for a ride on the banks of the Moselle! The blue way can be taken in Metz by the Eblé bridge. Several routes are available. The route from Metz to Corny-sur-Moselle for example, round trip is about 40 km. Don't worry, the path is well indicated and tables for eating are available. Follow the white bike logo on the green background of the Circuit des Étangs. A paradise for cycle tourists, the Pays des Étangs is a favorite with cyclists for its scenery and quiet, rolling roads. The loop from Rhodes and the Etang du Stock reaches Gondrexange and its pond, following gentle undulations through the countryside and unspoilt nature of the Parc Naturel Régional de Lorraine, to reach Réchicourt-le-Château. Beautiful panorama at Tarquimpol. A shorter variant is the Circuit des étangs Rhodes - Lindre - Canal, 31 km long.

This circuit, which follows the Deux Sarres cycle path, offers a wide range of possibilities for all levels. The route via Vasperviller, which totals 18 km along safe, signposted paths, is perfect for families, as it's so easy and enjoyable to ride. For the more athletic, there's a 23.5 km variant via Voyer that connects the two valleys. From the plateau, you'll enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the Vosges mountains.

It's an emblematic circuit and... a hell of a ride. The entire route is reserved for trained cyclists. In fact, the Tour de France peloton has crossed the Col du Donon several times: a positive vertical drop of 1,375 m! But what panoramic views over the Vosges, the Alsace plain and the Lorraine plateau! The route passes the Notre-Dame-de-la-Délivrance (Seven Roses) chapel, isolated in the commune of Turquestein-Blancrupt, and offers a nature stop with bench and picnic table at the Abri des Baronnies on the GR 534 at Saint-Quirin.

A strategic point, Nitting is on the beautiful Voie Verte des Deux Sarres itinerary that links Sarrebourg to Abreschviller, in 18 km, along the Sarre Rouge canal, on the old towpath with its smooth asphalt surface. So from Nitting you can cycle, rollerblade or walk 9 km north to Sarrebourg or south to Abreschviller and its forest. Of course, you'll need to count the return journey too!
