Roti is a club restaurant housed in a former garage in the city's northern district. The furniture is sober, the welcome warm and smiling, right next to the Skate Café, which we also like a lot. The menu is concise and offers broodjes, but also and above all dishes of Indonesian origin. Roti is not the dish we call it, but a generous portion of breaded chicken with sweet and sour sauce, or the delicious peanut-based satay soup. Once the meal is over, the place transforms into a club.

This address claims to be the only (real?) tapas bar in town. It's a great atmosphere, with music to match the cuisine, and very good food. We come here in a woodsy atmosphere, very gezellig as the Dutch like to say, and to enjoy small dishes, tapas, cold or without meat. The idea here is to make new acquaintances over a drink, and the music helps to soften the mood too. A great address for a lively evening with an international audience. A tried-and-tested classic among Haguenois!

Near the Royal Palace, the city's most famous Italian. Not to be confused with a common pizzeria. It offers a fine cuisine and all flavours, based on quality products (carpaccio, fresh pasta, risotto...), in a relaxed setting. A popular address for Haguenois where it is advisable to book. Superb terrace in summer. For the record, this address is the result of a dream of young adults who came by scooter from Italy and is now held by the next generation. A beautiful place to visit.

It would be a real shame not to discover this quality restaurant in Amstelveen, nicknamed the "superchinese" by some regulars and located on a pretty street. Although prices are higher than in most of Amsterdam's Chinese restaurants, so are the services. The atmosphere is one of hushed luxury, with a superb wall depicting the Shanghai skyline. The daily special is highly recommended. Bruxelles is located in a pretty alleyway and has been a fixture in the city since 1989. The dishes are hearty and filling, often based on boiled vegetables and meat. Vegetarians are not forgotten, for example, with vegan meat and vegetable pie. An address that doesn't succumb to modernity.

The well-kept, wood-panelled decor has recently been updated with a more refined touch. Ignite regularly plays host to large groups, so be warned about the decibel level. The view of the pizza oven is pleasant. Of note: a wide choice of fish and vegetarian dishes for a successful evening without any headaches. This is a quality address with a reputation, ideally located in the center of this beautiful city.

This restaurant is a newcomer to the city's culinary scene within the Koepel complex, a magnificent former prison. Housed in the former administrative buildings, it leads to the sublime dome. This is where prisoners began their stay, and this is where you can eat inspired, refined bistro-style cuisine featuring seasonal produce and Mediterranean-inspired dishes. It's a really interesting experience and, weather permitting, the pleasant terrace overlooking the former prison won't be a punishment.

It was on a lovely June evening that we discovered this chain (also known in Amsterdam). The place, on a charming square, is very pleasant. You can eat on the terrace overlooking the historic statue of Tsar Peter the Great. The menu offers succulent pizzas with a thin, crispy crust, just as you'd expect. Beforehand, you'll want to try the antipasti, which are excellent. For dessert, we opted for a Sgroppino, a cocktail made with lemon ice, limoncello, prosecco and vodka. A real delight.
