Things to see and do Seine-Et-Marne

It is often in the most discreet places that we make the most beautiful discoveries… The House of Printing in Rebais is a perfect example! Located in the place of the old station, this museum, held by Jacques Driot, a former professional, is full of instruments, accessories, tools, information and anecdotes that he does not hesitate to share with visitors. Patiently, Jacques Driot has thus recovered printing machines from all eras, typographical pieces, printing papers, compositions, measuring instruments and newspapers (read absolutely: The Parisian released from August 7, 1945 with the "one" atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima!), posters, reproductions, trust currencies, stamps, etc. Most machines still work perfectly and serve demonstrations. This museum ends with a very nice boutique where gift ideas bloom. The entrance is free and it is better to call before coming to make sure that a constant is assured. 

The association Le Mur proposes artistic projects and exhibitions of contemporary art. This creative space welcomes singular artists, both young and established, with the aim of sharing their approaches and creative processes. Their work makes contemporary art present and accessible in the region. They have two exhibition spaces in the town: the Prieuré de Pont-Loup, currently closed for restoration, and the Espace de Création du Mur, a 130^m2 gallery.

Le Point Sisley, run by an association of enthusiasts and scholars, offers an insight into the life of the painter Alfred Sisley and some of his works through large-format reproductions. Other sites allow you to discover the work of craftsmen and/or associations in the town! Full details are available from the Tourist Office.

The route dedicated to the Impressionist painter Alfred Sisley was created to discover the town and the artist's works. It allows visitors to discover the various places where this sometimes little-known artist lived and found inspiration. It is marked out in the town by enameled lava plaques in the very places where the artist set up his easel. A multilingual book to accompany the itinerary is available in store at the Moret Seine & Loing Tourist Office and at Point Sisley.

A signposted walk around Sisley (approx. 7 kilometers long) has been created between Moret-sur-Loing and Saint-Mammès, a canal town. This itinerary offers an original way to discover the work of Alfred Sisley, one of the purest and most authentic Impressionist landscape painters of the late ^19th century. As you stroll along the paths between Moret-sur-Loing and Saint-Mammès, you can stop to discover the plaques along the way. Set to be renamed Disney Adventure World by 2025, Disneyland Paris' second theme park focuses more on Disney's cinematic universe, offering a host of attractions based on the company's films and Hollywood over an area of more than 27 hectares. Among the many possibilities are the Place des Frères Lumières, the Hollywood-inspired Studio 1, with the Toon Studio and the World of Pixar, evoking the world of Finding Nemo and Cars, Toy Story Playland and, further afield, the famous Tower of Terror.

Of course, it's impossible to pass through Seine-et-Marne without mentioning one of its most famous attractions, the world's ^14th most visited theme park, Disneyland Paris. Spread over an area of more than 22 km², Parc Disneyland is the first Disneyland Paris park, covering more than 52 hectares and featuring some of the site's most popular attractions. You'll find some of its most famous hotels, as well as the famous Sleeping Beauty Castle, Main Street, USA and Frontierland.

This magnificent 19th century bourgeois house, which belonged to a patron of the city, Victor Garnier, became the municipal library in 1880. Today it houses the old archives, i.e. those dating from before 1789, a rich written heritage, charters including that of Henry I the Liberal - 1176 -, illuminated manuscripts from the 12th, 14th and 15th centuries. The 8,000 square metre garden spreads out its flower beds and trees with rare species - royal ginkgo, Virginia tulip tree... - for a walk in the middle of scents.
