Ancient vaulted cellars in Rozay-en-Brie, once used as a refuge for prisoners and the sick.

In Rozay-en-Brie, you'll find the remains of vaulted cellars, some of which are linked by underground passageways that are difficult to access and require you to bend over. Most of these tunnels have been filled in, as the entire network connected private homes. Like the galleries at Provins, these would have served over time as military posts, refuge for prisoners, shelter for armies... These cellars are entirely privately owned.
