The Franc-Comtois folklore, a preserved heritage

More traditionally, Franche-Comté has managed to preserve its folklore thanks to several dance groups and associations that strive to make local festive customs known. The music of the Franche-Comté region combines various instruments: accordion, violin and also the Vosges spinet, a kind of zither that used to accompany the fireside gatherings. To hear and see this local folklore, all you have to do is contact some of the groups that perform throughout the year, such as the Correvrots in Lure or the Gauch'not, a folk art company from the Haute-Saône based in Luxeuil-les-Bains, which still has villagers and city dwellers dancing in authentic costumes.

The Eurockéennes of Belfort

If Franche-Comté has a beautiful cultural and traditional heritage, it can also pride itself on being a region that does not live in the past. Since 1989, on the first weekend of July, one of the biggest music festivals in France takes place: the Eurockéennes. The Malsaucy peninsula hosts four days of great names of the contemporary scene who set fire to what is nicknamed the "little Woodstock of the Franche-Comté". For nearly 30 years, this festival has seen the greatest artists as varied as David Bowie, Ben Harper, James Brown, Alain Bashung, Jay-Z, Marylin Manson, Blur, Radiohead, Stromae, the Black Keys, Fauve... The success has always been there, thanks to an ever more audacious program

International Music Festival of Besançon

A major event in the world of classical music, the Besançon International Music Festival is a must. Even neophytes in this field appreciate the subtlety of this art. Concerts are given every day, featuring composers of all generations. Of course, the young conductors' competition, which is closely followed by the audience, is the most exciting highlight of the festival! Magical moments, always so well orchestrated!

Straw Festival

Métabief is the white of the snow in winter... and the blond of the wheat in summer. Since 2000, a group of music enthusiasts have been organising an annual Straw Festival in July. 750 festival-goers attended the first edition, compared to over 25,000 today. It covers many musical genres: reggae, rock, popular songs, electro, trip hop, pop, blues, folk. A festival that counts both nationally and internationally. A new feature is the creation of a quiet and secure accommodation area. Le Petit Futé is a partner of this event

No Logo Festival

No Logo (in reference to Naomi Klein's book) is an independent reggae festival, without subsidies or sponsors. It is only the festival-goers who, every year, finance it and make it possible. Installed on the site of the Forges de Fraisans since 2013, it has become one of the major cultural events in Franche-Comté. Counting 19,000 admissions in 2 days for its first edition, the event has not stopped growing to reach more than 40,000 now. The numerous festival-goers discover the department through music! And it must be said that they are spoiled! Since its creation, some of the biggest names of the international reggae scene have come to Fraisans: Jimmy Cliff, two of the Marley sons, Alpha Blondy..

Rockalissimo in Saint-Aubin

For more than 15 years now, a dynamic team has been organising this festival, which has become increasingly well-known from one edition to the next. Nearly ten musical groups of great notoriety perform over two days in June

Jura Baroque Music Festival

Over the years, the Jura Baroque Music Festival has become an essential stop for the great names in early music, who appreciate the quality of the event as much as its conviviality. Each year the festival chooses a venue adapted to the music to be performed. The concerts follow a route through the Jura mountains, where the place and the musicians are in osmosis, thus inviting music lovers to a great moment of rare intensity.

Why Les Gueules de Bois?

The idea of the festival is to mix a festive, musical, cultural and sporting project dedicated to the general public with the history of our heritage linked to the local wood resource as a backdrop. A musical program oriented around rock'n'roll music. Faithful to its musical tastes, the Gueules de Bois team wishes to offer a quality musical program with artists of regional and national fame. A festival linked to the wood and its culture. Not only linked to the idea of a party and a difficult tomorrow, the name of the Gueules de Bois festival is also meant to be a link between artistic practices and the wood culture in the Jura.

Scenes from the Jura

Throughout the year, Scènes du Jura offers an eclectic programme. It is also a project that aims to connect the women and men who live, act and create in the region. More than a place for theatre, music, circus and dance, the Scènes du Jura invites people to meet. FAIRE CORPS is about solidarity, supporting initiatives, creating synergy and stimulating a common dynamic. FAIRE CORPS is about making contact.
