Alternéo is the transport network for the South of France. With its pink buses, it serves the six communes of Saint-Pierre, Saint-Louis, L'Étang-Salé, Petite-Île, Cilaos and Les Avirons. You'll also find the distance from your chosen location to the nearest bus stop: read it carefully if you're choosing this environmentally-friendly mode of transport!

Behind the Saint-Louis church and near the Lycée professionnel Victor Schoelcher, you'll find the town's bus station. Recently renovated, the structure includes shops, but also the brand-new branch of Alternéo, the public transport network of the South. Saint-Louis is on the T, S3, S4, S5, O1 and O2 lines of the Cars Jaunes, direct to Saint-Denis and Saint-Pierre. The 60 bus to Cilaos also leaves from here. The station is always bustling with activity... Beware, the place is not recommended in the evening.

In 2019, the Alternéo bus network launched its bicycle version: Altervélo. The idea is to offer monthly or yearly rental of bicycles, with or without electric assistance and electric scooters.
