On his small 3.8 hectare estate, Vincent Grall produces white and rosé Sancerre from flinty and clayey-siliceous soils. His cellar is located on the Sancerre peak and his vineyard on the surrounding hillsides. Manual harvesting, particular care in working the vineyard with respect to the soil, organic amendments, limited yields, simple and natural vinification, allowing the full expression of the Sauvignon, give these excellent wines. The Domaine des Bruniers has been producing Quincy for many years. Exposed on the banks of the Cher, the vineyard grows on terraces of sand and gravel resting on the limestone and clay of the banks. This noble terroir allows the Sauvignon grape variety to reach maturity very early. It is on these soils that it reaches the full bloom of its aromas and flavour, giving it its originality. For 10 generations, the Bourgeois family has been winemakers from father to son to grandson, as if ad aeternam. In 1950, the estate, which consisted of only 2 hectares, was enlarged. Since then, over the years, Henri Bourgeois, his sons and grandsons, have built up a vineyard of 65 hectares, judiciously distributed over the hillsides of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé. The different types of soil such as flint, Kimmeridgian marl, limestone, clay-limestone, sandy-gravelly, sandy-silt, silt and tuffeau offer rare specificities in the mouth. White Sancerre, pouilly-fumé, sauvignon blanc, menetou-salon, red sancerre, rosé sancerre, are pronounced ranges that give rise to beautiful restaurant combinations. We will stop at present on the pouilly-fumé, elected of our heart by its very distinct aroma but also being rare as for the beautiful quality which one owes towards, thus "La Demoiselle de Bourgeois" combines elegance and presence making of this wine whose vintage is bottled only after one year, a model of pure and delicate expression of the white Sauvignon. The Sauvignon Blanc called "Sancerre d'Antan" is not to be overlooked, especially as it is unfiltered and its fruity and mineral nuances are drawn from the exceptional flinty soil of the village of Saint-Satur. Jean-Jacques and Monique Teiller work on the estate with their daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Olivier Luneau, the third generation. Located on the best slopes of the communes of Menetou-Salon, Parassy, Aubinges and Vignoux, their vineyard is worked in its entirety in Organic Agriculture (certified since 2017) and in Biodynamics (first year of conversion at Biodyvin in 2019), and it now covers just under twenty hectares. The property produces white, red and rosé Menetou-Salon. The white is made from the Sauvignon grape variety. It is representative of the Menetou-Salon appellation and its taste is typical of Domaine Teiller. Its nose is intense and mineral with notes of citrus, peaches and ripe fruit. It is ideal with a crottin de Chavignol - for example, with fish, white meat or an aperitif. The red and rosé wines are made from a pinot noir grape variety that is rooted deeper in the clay-limestone soil. The red releases its aromas of red fruits, raspberries, cherries and spices in a bouquet of flavours. It is a perfect accompaniment to terrines, meats... and chocolate desserts! Its fame goes beyond the borders. Tadashi Agi and Shu Okimoto even refer to it in their famous manga Les Gouttes de Dieu. The Jean Teiller estate produces three white wines (classic, Mademoiselle T, Rencontre), a classic rosé and three red wines (classic, Hommage, Rencontre rouge). A beautiful Cher estate to discover!

It has to be said that this sympathetic winemaker shows great regularity, which never disappoints. Located in Maimbray, in the commune of Sury-en-Vaux, 7 km northwest of Sancerre, Domaine Michel Vattan is a family business that has been in existence for three generations. With 9.10 hectares of vines, the estate offers two main types of terroir typical of the Maimbray hillsides: "Caillottes" and "Terres Blanches". The grape varieties grown are Sauvignon (7.8 hectares) and Pinot Noir (1.3 hectares). The estate applies environmentally-friendly practices, such as yield control, grass cover, no insecticides and no tillage. The estate's different cuvées, notably the white Sancerre cuvée Calcaire, cuvée Argile, cuvée L-O, as well as the red and rosé Sancerre, are recognized by the national and international press.

Domaine Paul Prieur et Fils is a vineyard located in Verdigny. It is run by Philippe Prieur and his nephew, Luc, who continue the work of ten generations on this estate. The vines are planted on the caillottes and terres blanches of Verdigny and Chavignol, as well as on the flint of Thauvenay, near the Loire. The winemakers make every effort to refine the definition of their Sauvignons and Pinots Noirs, adopting organic practices in 2019 and reducing the use of sulfites in their wines. Located in Crézancy-en-Sancerre, just 10 kilometers from Sancerre, Domaine des Caves du Prieuré / Guillerault-Fargette is a winery offering wine tasting. The vineyard covers 21 hectares and is planted mainly with two grape varieties: Sauvignon (for white Sancerre), which accounts for 70% of the vineyard, and Pinot Noir (for red and rosé Sancerre) for the remaining 30%. The estate also offers individual tours lasting an average of 30 minutes, as well as guided tours on request for groups, lasting an average of one hour. Tastings are free of charge for individual visitors, and chargeable for groups.

Domaine Daniel REVERDY & Fils offers a variety of wines, including Sancerre Blanc, Sancerre Rouge and Sancerre Rosé. Sancerre Blanc is a dry, fresh and lively wine with citrus aromas. It can be served as an aperitif and goes perfectly with fish and cheese. Sancerre Rouge is firm and full-bodied, with cherry and Morello cherry aromas. It goes well with white meats and cheeses. Sancerre Rosé is a light, fruity, pale-colored wine, ideal for accompanying all dishes, especially exotic meals. The estate also offers a plot-based cuvée, "Le Clos de Chaudenay", as well as a special cuvée, "Anthea", aged in oak barrels.

Domaine de Chevilly is a winery located in Méreau, in the Loire Valley region. Founded in 1994 by Antoine and Yves Lestourgie, the estate cultivates 13.30 hectares of vines, mainly for the production of the Quincy appellation d'Origine Contrôlée. Visitors can enjoy a playful tasting of 4 wines, accompanied by a blind game to test their senses. Domaine de Chevilly accepts payment by credit card, cheque or cash. It also has a children's area, motorhome parking, disabled access and dog-friendly facilities. A picnic area is also available on site.

Domaine LECOMTE is a vineyard located in Farges-en-Septaine. With 13 hectares of vines, it produces quality wines from the Quincy and Châteaumeillant appellations. The domaine acquired 3 hectares of vines in Châteaumeillant in 2010, enabling it to produce its first vintage of Châteaumeillant, which has now been awarded the appellation.

For more than three centuries and ten generations, members of the same winegrower family have been living on this estate a few kilometres from Sancerre. On a clayey-limestone and well exposed soil, the estate extends over three appellations: sancerre, Pouilly-fumé and Coteaux-du-Giennois, which the winegrowers will show you in a free and very welcoming way. A moderate tasting is also offered free of charge. And finally, several cottages are available for rent to spend several days in this exceptional setting.

Domaine Sylvain Bailly is a winery located in Bué, a village in the heart of the Sancerrois region. This family-run operation, which has been in existence since the 18th century, offers a full range of white, red and rosé wines produced directly from the estate. In addition to Sancerre, the vineyard extended into the Quincy appellation in 1995, offering a variety of Sauvignon grape varieties. The Saint Ursin Calvary, erected in 1877 and located on the property, completes the estate's appellation. Domaine Sylvain Bailly also offers a delivery service.
