Open since 1997, Gomier's is a Punta Gorda institution and considered by many to be the best restaurant in town. It offers incredibly fine vegetarian, vegan and fish dishes with Garifuna and Caribbean influences. With the motto "health is well-being", the team assures its customers of dishes made from fresh, organic produce, to the delight of our taste buds. We particularly recommend the tofu balls and shrimp burgers. Theme evenings at weekends.

Located in the center of the village of Placencia, Wendy's is now a classic, a little more formal than the average village restaurant. The restaurant has both a large air-conditioned indoor dining room and a lovely shaded terrace. The menu features simple Creole-inspired dishes, such as fish or lobster in sauce or grilled, rice and beans, as well as more American fare like burgers and salads. Try the cocktails!

One of the area's colorful haunts, this "barefoot bar" serves up live music every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Ideal for those who want to spend a little time in a very tropical beach restaurant, and meet new people in a friendly atmosphere. The extensive menu features mainly Central American specialties: nachos, burritos, salbutes, tostadas, tacos, enchiladas , salads, wraps, burgers and pizzas.

Mexican specialities at the Waluco's rendez-vous, fried fish, plaster, burgers and salads, are therefore for all tastes. The plates are full of colours and tastes. The service is very nice and lively evenings are organized around culinary themes (with a bit of luck, evening of pork in barbecue… yum), but also music and dancing. A nice cocktail card with everything! What more?

The owner, Tim, a native of Dangriga, offers a pretty beach stand where you can come for lunch or dinner in all simplicity. The burgers are excellent, and the ceviches are made to order with shrimp, conch or fish brought in on the day by his fisherman friends. Wings, fajitas and quesadillas complete the menu, which you can accompany with a good cocktail or a cold beer, unless you prefer to sit back and enjoy a fresh fruit juice. Special mention for the lovely tables on the beach, with your feet in the sand.

A lovely little spot on Dangriga beach, where you can enjoy a good burger or simply a drink while taking in the breathtaking view. Of particular note is the excellent lobster burger, unique in its kind and very reasonably priced. Shine, the owner, is very friendly and loves to talk about his city. Don't hesitate to ask him for advice, he'll send you to the lesser-known and sometimes surprising places. We come here to eat, but also to discover.

Visitors flock to the few tables in this small, almost informal restaurant, attracted by the hearty, inexpensive home cooking. Here you'll find the usual egg dishes for breakfast, with fresh fruit juice for the fussiest of stomachs. The dinner menu is very attractive: fried conch with pineapple sauce, lobster claws, grilled snapper fillet, chicken or pork chops. Since 2022, Dawn's grill has been temporarily relocated to the premises of sister restaurant The Galley.

The view of Guatemala and Honduras from the terrace is magnificent. Guests come here to enjoy family-style dishes of Caribbean, Indian and local inspiration, with an abundance of vegetables, fish and meat. The menu changes daily and portions are generous. If you're lucky, you'll go to the Bayside Buffet on a day when duck is on the menu... the duck curry ragout is highly original and devilishly tasty. This is an excellent PG address, not to be missed. A charming beach chalet, clean as a whistle, with a terrace serving cuisine that's far more sophisticated than the village average, yet without superfluous pretension. From breakfast onwards, you'll find meticulously presented dishes, where color associations are merely the prelude to those of flavor(burritos, fry jack, omelette, fresh fruit juice). For late risers, the menu kicks off with soups, salads and fish tacos, before turning to the catch of the day or delicious curries (land or sea).

The place to go for a taste of authentic Garifuna cuisine: hudut (fish and plantain, coconut curry), escavoch fish,stew, shellfish soup or shrimp dishes. Visit on Fridays and Sundays for percussion jam sessions, as the place also functions as a center for Garifuna culture. The place is spacious and the wooden tables nicely arranged in a courtyard swept by the sea breeze, making it an ideal refuge at any hour, from breakfast to dinner. An absolute must.

This is the den of Garifuna gastronomy, where you'll have to go through the ordeal of tasting Huddut, fresh fish prepared in a delicious coconut milk curry, accompanied by manioc garnish. More classic dishes are also on the menu, and the place is ideal for a good breakfast before heading out to sea if that's your plan for the day. Don't miss the banana fritters and the unsuspected fish tea, a Garifuna specialty of course. Vegetarians will also find a very good rice with red beans.

For breakfasts, lunches and coffee breaks, this small restaurant offers a tempting menu. One of the house specialties is the burrito , which comes in a variety of vegetarian, meat and fish versions. Snack Shak is also renowned for its delicious breakfasts and smoothies. A true city institution for almost 20 years! Here, you don't come for the comfort of an air-conditioned room, but for the atmosphere of a little place of the world and its motley clientele.

The restaurant at the Maya Beach Hotel, on Stann Creek beach, is certainly one of the best in the area. You'll find inspired, high-quality cuisine, featuring seafood in Caribbean and international recipes. Lamb is also in the spotlight, and the version of this typical Belizean dish offered here will seduce your taste buds as much as your eyes. The excellent bread is homemade, and there are even several menu options for vegetarians.

De Tatch is located on the beach and glued to the Sea Spray Hotel. Its menu is not very original, but all the dishes are carefully prepared, and are therefore simple and very good. We stop here for breakfasts to be prepared according to the mood of the day: omelettes, pancakes, waffles, yoghurts, fresh fruit and juice, burritos, burgers, vegetarian options and of course seasonal fish and seafood. The setting is really nice just a stone's throw from the water and under a large straw roof, which smells like a holiday.

A Placencia institution. Opened 23 years ago by Omar, the family business is now run by his son Grayson. The restaurant is open to the four winds on the street, without fuss or frills; an elevated terrace overlooks the street. Specializing in seafood, the menu features lobster, crabs and whatever else the fishermen brought in that morning. For breakfast, we can serve you a shrimp omelette if you feel like it. The restaurant has its own boat and organizes fishing and diving excursions.

This little shack in the center of the village is renowned for its hearty cuisine, based on fresh vegetables and fish. You can also eat delicious chicken, freshly caught fish and, when in season, conch in all its forms. In short, healthy, local, simple and inexpensive food. Vegetarians will love the coconut rice or the stir-fried organic vegetables, which are a real treat. Everything is absolutely perfect! What's more, we're right on the beach, under coconut palms - what more could you ask for?

Asha, the chef, welcomes you to this wooden house on the sea, and offers a menu of Caribbean specialties. Fresh fish, sometimes caught by the chef himself, is carefully cooked in delicious sauces, or grilled to your liking. Accompanied by vegetables, rice or salads. You can also enjoy meat dishes, such as the famous grilled chicken, as well as burgers and vegetarian specialties. A very pleasant setting, especially during the musical evenings regularly organized by the house.

Beside the beach, right next to the main dock, this is a perfect place to relax. The frame is very pleasant, with a shaded terrace, sun loungers, deck chairs and wooden tables to settle and enjoy delicious, refreshing smoothies (more than 30 à la carte), accompanied by salad, or, burgers or even cool.

Surely the best address of Hopkins. The decoration is careful and thought around the theme of the frog, of which figurines and sculptures are scattered throughout the lovely terrace of the restaurant. Depending on the fishing of the day, the chef prepares delicious dishes, between European inspiration and exotic flavours: grilled fish with papaya sauce for example. Both German and Peer, the happy owners of the restaurant, are looking forward to welcoming their guests and giving us a chance to return again and again in this charming lair of travellers.

This very friendly café is the place to be for breakfast, welcoming the same travelers year after year. Set out on the terrace, you can enjoy bowls of cereals, hearty omelettes, bagels or sandwiches to get your day off to a good start. The menu is timeless: you can order breakfast at 2pm or a salad for breakfast. Service is a little slow, but friendly. Inside, you'll find a small clothing boutique and a few fashion accessories.
