CASA ANCORA

Portuguese restaurant €€

Located along the waterfront, in what is still a seafarers' village, an exceptional table in a resolutely Nordic sobriety decor; the young chef (very promising) who presides over the stoves offers a very high quality cuisine, which sublimates the irreproachable freshness of the food by the extremely sophisticated treatment he lavishes on it. At this level, simplicity almost meets perfection. The local wines, excellently chosen, are a perfect match for the food served. Among the best tables on the island.

FONTE CUISINE

Fusion restaurant and international cuisine €€

This is the restaurant of the Hotel Aldeia da Fonte. It offers a fusion cuisine, more sophisticated and as much appreciated by locals as by tourists. We offer a varied menu and a good choice of Azorean and Mediterranean dishes concocted with a gourmet touch, based on local products (organic seasonal vegetables, organic Azorean meat) enhanced with aromatic plants and surprising spices. The restaurant also has a large terrace overlooking the garden where it is pleasant to eat. Courtesy staff and peaceful environment. Very good address.

ADEGA « A BURACA »

Portuguese restaurant €€

À Buraca is a concept! An initiative of Leonardo Ávila Silva, inaugurated on November 11, 2007 and part of the Wine Route since 2013. It's a museum, a cellar where you can taste excellent wines and a delicious restaurant all in one. The traditional restaurant offers typical cuisine that goes perfectly with Azorean wines. In addition to the restaurant, there's a crafts and cooperage store, a blacksmith's tent, straw, wool and wicker workshops... Please note: reservations required.

MAR SUSHI TERRACE

Japanese restaurant €€

Clean lines, white walls and light wood furniture are the hallmarks of this cliffside Japanese restaurant, housed in an old Azorean house. Access is via the terrace, which offers a breathtaking view of the Faja de Ribeiras below. On the menu, sushi of course, prepared with local fish. But also a menu of traditional Japanese dishes made with products from the island and the Archipelago. Everything is fine, delicious and one of the best Japanese restaurants we've ever tasted! An excellent address.
