BOOM AND HARBOUR
Read moreThe arrival at Ostend should start with a walk on the boom, this long sturdy pontoon that advances towards the wide. Fragile spirits are made of dizzy to see the sea agiter beneath them through the holes separating the beams of the floor. From here we have seen on the seafront.

BREDENE NATURIST BEACH
Read moreSince July 1, 2001, Belgium has had an authorised naturist beach in Bredene, just above Ostend. It is a portion of a beach about 300 meters long between Bredene and De Haan - Le Coq. It is clearly indicated by large signs. This beach is very popular during the summer period, sometimes nearly 3,000 naturists find themselves there and the boundary on the De Haan side is exceeded out of necessity. The beach is pleasant but can become very narrow at high tide. At low tide, like all Belgian beaches, it is several hundred metres deep.

BLANKAART NATURE RESERVE
Read moreAlong the road from Ypres to Ieper, the hamlet of Ronehoek is the doorway of the Blankaart nature reserve. The Étang pond results from the action of man, which divide the ground in order to extract the peat to heat itself. The estate starts from the road by the castle park, pretty brick building and white stone. The park goes down to the water first identified by the trees, soon hemmed with a reed thickness. It includes cendrés herons, pourprés herons and tundra ducks that go through the winter. With a little luck you will see the busard of the reeds diving in the roselière to capture a prey. Unfortunately, this magnificent reserve is threatened by heavy water border.
