This romería, a kind of pilgrimage, takes place every year in honor of the Virgin of Consolation, patron saint of the city. It begins at dawn when a large number of pilgrims gather at the Church of Our Lady of Consolation. From there, the statue of the Virgin is carried to the area of El Calvario, about 12 kilometers from Osuna. This is an opportunity to share a festive moment but also to cross beautiful landscapes.

FÊTE DU SAINT PATRON DE ECIJA

In keeping with tradition, but also with a municipal decision that dates back to the 15th century, Ecija celebrates its patron saint, San Pablo Apostol. His statue is paraded through the city, accompanied by the brotherhoods of the city, starting from the church of Santa Barbara to the church of Santo Domingo. In this last church, the mass is held and the miracle of San Pablo is read in old Castilian: the healing of a young Ecijano, Antón de Arjona.

In Seville, the feast of the Immaculate Conception is celebrated together with the traditional dance of the seises, in the cathedral. In the Cathedral of Seville, the statue of Nuestra Señora de los Reyes, proclaimed patroness of the Archdiocese of Seville by Pope Pius XII, is located in the Royal Chapel. Every August 15, she leaves the Cathedral at 8:00 a.m. through the Puerta de Palos to be carried in a procession around the Cathedral, following the streets Placentines, Alemanes, Avenida de la Constitución, Fray Ceferino González, Plaza del Triunfo, Plaza de la Virgen de los Reyes and makes her return to the sound of bells. A procession marked by 4 stops punctuated by religious acts.
