ANDRÉS MARÍN FLAMENCO ABIERTO

Dance classes

Located in a very bright building, this studio has three levels, with participants from different worlds, including Ursula López, Rosario Toledo, Vicky Barea or Leonor Leal. The attendance is more Spanish than foreign. The classes begin with stretching, more technical than at the Betanzos academy. In general, the school is more technical than the Betanzos Academy, which is more theatrical. It would be ideal to try both before deciding.

STADE DE LA CARTUJA

Stadium and sports complex

Located on the island of La Cartuja, it can accommodate over 57,000 spectators, making it the second-largest stadium in Andalusia and the fifth-largest in Spain. It was inaugurated in May 1999 to host that year's World Athletics Championships and to consolidate Seville's bid for the 2004 and 2008 Olympic Games. After renovation work, it was reopened in 2020 as a multi-purpose venue for major sporting and stage events, as well as serving as headquarters for numerous companies and organizations. In terms of major sporting events, in 2020 it hosted four Euro 2020 matches (three Group E matches and one round-of-16 match), as well as the finals of Footfall's Copa del Rey. On the rugby side, it hosted the final of the Copa del Rey de Rugby in 2022. Dedicated to ball sports, it also hosted the 1999 World Athletics Championships and two of the four Davis Cup finals held in Spain (the other two were held at Barcelona's Palau Sant Jordi). It's also a sell-out venue for major concerts, hosting Madonna, U2, Dépeche Mode, Bruce Spingsteen and AC/DC, and for electronic music festivals featuring top DJs, such as the breakbeatfestival (Spain's biggest). And, of course, theOperación Triunfo, Spain's equivalent of Star Ac, also plays host to concerts.
