In the Family Pizza shopping center, there are plenty of options for grabbing a bite to eat at any time of day. Nevertheless, we liked the Tablapizza, an Italian restaurant that opens both into the center (the lower room or upstairs), and outside, with its terrace. With no need for reservations, the large capacity means that even the biggest groups can be accommodated. The pizzas are good, original and can be accompanied by salads to share. We also like the dishes on offer, especially the all-you-can-eat carpaccio for those with a sweet tooth.

Comfortably seated on a pleasant terrace, you'll enjoy an excellent buffet where billing is done by the kilo, according to what you put on your plate, in the purest style of Brazilian restaurants. Joyce, the owner, brings you the flavors of her homeland, with the addition of Creole specialties. Very popular with the locals, it's an opportunity to serve yourself at your convenience and enjoy a good quick meal. Quality and variety are the order of the day. Friday lunchtime is couscous in addition to the buffet, and Saturday is grilled meats.

Building on the success of the Petit Bateau brand in the Cayenne area (for pizzas), the brand diversified and decided to launch the Ti'Bato Burger... With at least as much success! Let's not beat around the bush: the burgers are excellent, made with fresh produce, and that makes all the difference. And what about the fries? Homemade, of course, and deliciously crunchy: the icing on the burger! The veggie burger is not on the menu, but the friendly owners will be happy to prepare one for you if you wish.

Le jardin de By is a wonderful new addition for lovers of fresh, local produce. In addition to the traditional grocery store selling all the basics, you'll find typical vegetables and fruit, fresh or dehydrated, as well as aromatic plants... Are you unsure about fruit pulps(cupuaçu, maracuja, cherry...), jams or Hmong medicinal teas? It's all homemade: Marc will welcome you with a smile and advise you on the wide choice! Takeaway meals are also available.

Don't be fooled into thinking you're enjoying a raclette here. This establishment takes its name from the huge cheese tree just off the Montabo road, which you can spot from a distance. At the foot of the tree, you'll see a friendly team busying themselves around the barbecue preparing their best grilled dishes: fried fish, chicken fricassee, grilled ribs... The list is long and the Creole specialities delicious, to our great delight. We bet you'll even come back for a second course!

This pleasant restaurant-bar-pizzeria is an essential stop-off on the road to Kaw or Saint Georges. It offers delicious dishes such as grilled meats and fish, depending on what's available. But what makes all the difference is the cheerful welcome from Alice, the owner and cook. As soon as you walk in the door, sit down on the terrace and you'll feel right at home. Sunday lunchtimes are devoted to wood-fired grills, and one weekend a month there are techno nights and karaoke: a festive atmosphere and cheap cocktails!

Don't let its name fool you, Beirut's Karbet is in fact a restaurant... And a very good one at that! The only Lebanese restaurant in Cayenne, this establishment was created in 2022 by 2 brothers who had worked for several years in very good Lebanese restaurants. Building on its success, it has already expanded in 2024 and now occupies a well-decorated room in a nice corner of Cayenne. You'll love discovering the flavors, accompanied by various mezzes: tabbouleh, cream of eggplant or hummus... The welcome is very friendly and pleasant, and well worth discovering!

Victor Martin has just opened his third bakery in Remire, building on the reputation acquired with his 2 establishments in Matoury and the historic one on route de Baduel. An even bigger space to offer you even more fresh, home-made products: a wide choice of sandwiches, tartines, quiches or salads to satisfy your small hungers. And delicious viennoiseries and pastries to round things off on a high note! The quality is really there, with just one small downside: the rather high prices, which sometimes exceed those charged in mainland France.

Here's a very good Asian speciality restaurant, well known to the locals, that's sure to please! Settle down on the small terrace or in the simply decorated, modern dining room, and start enjoying the excellent starters: classic samoussas or egg rolls, or the more daring boneless chicken feet! We particularly recommend the rice crepes, which are well worth the detour. For main courses, you can opt for our excellent soups, grilled meats or timeless Asian dishes (pork in caramel sauce, shrimps in sweet and sour sauce...).

What would you do if you felt the urge to eat Indian food during your stay in French Guiana? There aren't many alternatives... And yet, just a stone's throw from the Cayenne market, Le Taj is sure to please! In this beautiful, typically decorated establishment, you'll have the pleasure of tasting good food in the air-conditioned dining room. You'll find all the delights of Indian food, even biryani with chicken, lamb or shrimp. As is often the case in Indian restaurants, vegetarian options are plentiful and the service impeccable.

Following on from the Sushi Express takeaway restaurant just across the street, the Ichiban family is expanding in Remire with a concept that's completely new to French Guiana! At lunchtime, in the downstairs dining room, you can enjoy sushi, ramen and pokes brought to you by a little cat-headed robot. Upstairs, you'll need to make a reservation to sit down for the evening on a tatami mat, a veritable private Japanese lounge, for 2 to 20 people. Service is impeccable, delivered by waiters in traditional kimono.

Pizzas are all the rage in Cayenne, but not all of them are as generous and high quality as here! Wood'Pizz is part of the Wood restaurant, which has expanded right next door to the existing one, to enable Guyanese to enjoy good pizzas while keeping the same principle: healthy, quality products for, as they say, "quality pizzas with wonderful people"! Quality comes at a price, and the pizzas are a few euros more expensive than elsewhere, but the service is fast and always very pleasant. Definitely worth a try!

This Peruvian food truck is well known to local young metropolitans who want to eat well and cheaply, while enjoying caipirinhas! The concept: a team in the truck's kitchen is busy preparing your dish, and will call you on the microphone when it's ready. Set up on the seafront terrace, the place is very simple: plastic table and chairs, a loudspeaker in one corner blaring Latina music, but the good atmosphere is always there!

Le Céjo is a wonderful new addition to Montabo! Since January 2024, this establishment has been set up facing the sea. A terrace lets you enjoy the view, but the large dining room is not to be outdone, with its huge bay window and exposed beams. On the plate, it's a similar story: the choice is limited, but the dishes are very well prepared, with generally 2 meat and 2 fish options. Chef Pardonipade Johan is also a member of the Toques Guyanaises, a label that promotes local gastronomy, and he does it wonderfully.

The only Italian restaurant in Cayenne that doesn't serve pizza is this one! Instead, since 1995, A l'Ithalia has concentrated on fresh pasta and 100% homemade ravioli. The result is simply delicious! All the classic pasta dishes are on offer, and for the ravioli, choose the filling you like and the sauce you fancy. We loved the giraumon and peanut ravioli with curry sauce. As if to finish on a high note, the desserts are also "homemade", and the tiramisu is a real success!

Food truck feverhas not escaped Guyana! At nightfall, numerous trucks line up along the Place des Palmistes offering all kinds of takeaways: bamis, nassis, brochettes à la sauce saté, sandwiches, hamburgers, madras... all for a modest price! The idea is to enjoy all this on the spot, or on the Place des Amandiers among the boules players, unless you opt for a spot facing the sea on the Vieux Port.
