In the heart of the Bessin, a few hundred metres from the sea, Bernard Lebrec welcomes you every day to discover the products of his cider orchard. Cider, calvados, pommeau de Normandie, Norman aperitif, juice or apple jelly are all easily enjoyed in a farmhouse typical of the region.

This Nicolas cellar welcomes you to its richly endowed den. No more headaches when it comes to finding the perfect gift for your loved ones! Whether you're looking for prestigious crus or nuggets from small estates, the cellar master will guide you. White, rosé or sparkling, everything is carefully chilled for your pleasure. In his large workshop, our brewmaster Etienne has plenty of room to express his talent. More local, mostly organic ingredients, our Géo Trouvetou is gaining in maturity, listening to feedback and fine-tuning his beers! No need to introduce you to his creation and marvel, La Petite Biche. An unfiltered blond, it's the power and strength of wood in a bottle. Available in a range of more or less full-bodied recipes to suit all tastes: white, brown, IPA, year-round or ephemeral beverages, there's bound to be a doe to suit you!

At La Loterie, nothing is left to chance! Run by the Aubry family since 1936, Ferme de la Loterie became Cave de la Loterie when Régis took it over in 1999. The cider farm has 25 ha of organically-farmed orchards. The small house has become large and renowned. Discover the full range of cidres bouchés, pommeau and calvados AOC. You'll be seduced by the house aperitif, r'Êve de poire, or the apple juices, cider vinegar, apple jelly... A beautiful and respectful showcase for local production.

Motorists, be careful to negotiate your arrival and departure! The winery is located on the four-lane road to Ouistreham between the Centre Commercial Saint-Clair and Colombelles exits. No need to tell you that it's fast... But once your skid has been controlled and your car parked in front of the store, you can take your time to choose among the beautiful selections of wines and spirits that Franck offers in his store. We were won over by the choice and the range of prices - there really is something for everyone - as well as by the advice, sure, precise, and without unnecessary jargon. The Côtes du Rhône AOP Domaine de Givaudan (a handful of euros), the Viré-Clessé (a little more expensive), and the Ron Diplomatico (reasonable for a "Reserva") that he recommended on the day of our visit all three fulfill their promises. By the way, we received a mini-course on rum - sorry, rums - and thank you because now we learn to appreciate them and to recognize their aromas. But the man could talk to you as much about his whiskies, calvados and beers... In short, a passionate man who is also a pro!

A knowledgeable and passionate wine connoisseur, Yves will advise you on your choice of vintage. There's also a fine selection of spirits, champagnes and... calvados (yes!)! And as pleasure never comes alone, gourmet delicatessen products await you! What's more, it's open on Sunday mornings!

Les Mets Chai, before it was a drinking restaurant, it was a dining cellar! Jean-Charles has separated the two concepts to keep us happy! Here, you'll discover excellent vintages, natural wines, meaning organic, good and clean! Look at the walls full of bottles with labels and appellations that stand out (Va te faire boire or Gamay du matin). Evening presentations and tastings are organized (book in advance!) in the presence of the winemakers. There's something for every palate, and your favorite vineyards will no longer hold any secrets for you!

Our friendly wine merchant has a passion for wine - wines - and also for beers, calvados, ciders, pommeau... Jean-Philippe loves good things. A pleasure that he shares with his customers for a tasting. He will know how to scare whisky lovers with his references from all over the world and seduce the unconditional fans of home brewed beer. His little touch: he doesn't pack the bottles in a box, but in a "bourriche"! That's a nice touch! Moral, if you come across a crate...

In the heart of Bessin, three kilometres from Omaha-Beach, Ferme du Lavoir is a gourmet stop on the tour of the d-day beaches. Miryam and Guillaume Capelle took over this cider-producing exploitation of thirteen acres orchards, four years ago, in 2010, turning to a resolutely organic agriculture. All products come from apples of orchards leads in respect of the fauna and flora surrounding, combining traditional methods and modern techniques with the same concern of relaxing all the flavours of apple. The range is made consists of a semi-dry cider (assembly of eight sweet, bittersweet and acid varieties), typical of the region of Bessin, marked by freshness and the fruity touch unusual and raw cider (assembly of sweet, bittersweet and bitter varieties), marked by a more pronounced bitterness. Thanks to a cellar, natural plugs foam are particularly well controlled. A know-how noticeable every year with the competition the Saint-Jean of the Ciders organised by the Maison Cidricole de Normandie where Ferme du Lavoir was awarded a silver medals in 2011, 2012 and 2013, especially for its semi-dry cider with the delicate mousse and very fine effervescence.

Along the way, don't miss La Sapinière. A visit to the estate, from the orchards to the cellars, is a fascinating immersion in the heart of a family history lovingly perpetuated for six generations. Regularly awarded laurels at regional competitions, the estate's production includes four nectars: cider, the flagship product, pommeau, calvados and apple juice. There's a cider for every palate, available in four cuvées: demi-sec, brut, "Verger du littoral" and, at the top of the bill, the special "Rivage du Bessin" cuvée, star of La Sapinière.

This winery plays the natural game, and we like it! With over 300 references, the cellar gives pride of place to organic, biodynamic, and natural wines. It's a real choice, as is the one to highlight French spirits! François also offers wine-tasting evenings and afterworks so you can enjoy his selection of wines on the spot. You can even take advantage of his surprising terrace nestled at the foot of the Abbaye aux Hommes to enjoy a fine vintage and seasonal tapas. At Julien Lemaître's, no fewer than 600 references of spirits, including 400 whiskies, are on display, with the possibility of tasting in a lounge as cosy as an Irish pub. In addition to the precious nectars from France and Navarre, Scotland, Ireland and Japan, this enthusiast has also succeeded in differentiating himself from classic wine merchants with his tasting formulas, a moment of sharing and discovery. Give him a call beforehand to be sure of a toast!

Getting together with friends over a good beer, yes, but bringing to life the good beer you'd like to drink, that's even better! That's the story of Brasserie Baya. Two friends get together and brew one, then two, then five beers. Blonde, Tripple, IPA, Ambrée and Blanche. La Cave des Tontons is a winning double: a lunchtime restaurant and a wine and spirits boutique. You won't find that nameless apple and beet potion ("y'en a!") that a certain Polish lady used to drink for breakfast... but you will be spoilt for choice with a wide selection of wines, rums, whiskies, champagnes, cognacs, armagnacs, calvados, gins and beers from all over the world. And because there's nothing better than getting to know the product, La Cave des Tontons also organises wine tasting sessions.

South of Lisieux, in the heart of the Auge region, Cyril Zangs' estate opens its doors by appointment. Six hectares of tall apple trees and the man who is considered to be the natural winemaker of cider production await you. Cyril Zangs has been in the cider business for several generations and now makes "complex ciders without complexes". His key words: know-how, rigor, uncompromising quality, and his brand: Cidre 2 Table, born in 2003. To be discovered!

You will find, here, a beautiful range of local gastronomy. Between land and sea, you will make a lot of discoveries as your basket fills up. But the Normans are not chauvinistic. In this shop, you will also find oils, teas, jams, fish soups. And that's not all. Also, something to complete your wardrobe, that of your children and grandchildren: seaside clothing with striped sailors' boats, oilskins, hats and sweaters (from major brands) and other souvenirs. And it's open 7 days a week, all day long. Ideal for a last-minute gift! Sandrine has just taken over the shop and promises (as we write) the opening of a welcoming tea room.

Everyone knows Nicolas - but did you know that the house Nicolas is one of France's first wineries and that Nicolas on Rue Bellivet has over 60 years? For the moment, Alain and Martine, the owners, are remarkably well-preserved… No, in fact, they have only been there since 1995! This is still a pretty career. Alain has an oenological background and mentors the future managers of Nicolas. His advice is simple: Do not hesitate to send you to the competitor if they don't have what you need and do not stick a bottle out of price for a barbecue between friends. Instead, he proposes the rosé of harvesting that he keeps at the expense for last-minute purchases (he has white and champagnes also). Besides, between two bottles, we spotted our Norman wine Les Arpents du Soleil… We feel we're dealing with good people! They offer you a gift box when needed, and if you get a scooter, we love it! We also love customers talking about Nicolas (the day we came, it was an ex-Parisian) as they would talk about an uncle or a good friend. That means everything…

From one cellar to another, we think they all look the same. But no, no, no. Some are distinguished by their personalities because their precious guardians will find good and beautiful products here and there. Of those that are not found elsewhere and especially not among franchisees. The conversation begins: beautiful shelves, a wide choice, large collections of whiskies, rums (old or arranged), wines, champagnes, not to mention (of course!) our local nectars (cider, calvados, some of which are vintage, pommeau, perry...) ennobled in a very beautiful delicatessen area full of pretty brands. Of those rarely found elsewhere (sardines or smoked oysters from "La Quiberonnaise", delicacies from the cannery on the Island of Groix, such as lobster oil...). We'll let you take the tour. You will leave with your arms full. Weren't you planning on taking a basket? The beach bag with the house logo will give you one more reason to keep a souvenir.

It offers a variety of products from Ireland such as clothing (Aran sweaters, coloured, etc.), covers, dishes but also teas, marmalades and other shortbreads, toffees and pudding, not forgetting beer and of course whiskeys! The fans will find the country's top rugby balls and shirts.

On the coastal road between Trouville and Honfleur, the Ferme de la Bouillette opens its doors for a small visit and a tasting. Farm cider, pommeau, calvados, apple juice... everything is good and AOC. Moreover, this small producer, small in size but big in quality, is often rewarded for its over-aged calvados and practices really honest prices. We like to see the reputation of beautiful wineries confirmed and this one is one of them. Its array of wines and silky nectars is complemented by a delicatessen section. The fresh section is also there to give you ideas with a selection of cheeses, antipasti, tapas and charcuterie. A bit out of the way from Caen, this cellar is nevertheless a reference in the city. Professionals buy their supplies there and it didn't take long for us to follow suit. A piece of advice: take a big shopping basket, you won't come out empty-handed!

Cider apple producers Christelle and François Lecornu welcome you to their downtown cellar to introduce you to their organic cider production on 9 hectares of orchards around Bayeux (in Juaye-Mondaye, Maisons, and Mandeville-en-Bessin). Cider, apple juice, Pom'Apéritif, calvados, apple brandy, and also apple jelly... can be enjoyed close to the cathedral, in an authentic and surprising setting.

In its 18th century farmhouse, Cidrerie Viard, located in Guéron, 3 km from Bayeux, produces cider with Norman apples in accordance with tradition. Since 1932, the different generations have been able to develop their craft production to be among the best in the region and the oldest French family cider houses. Recognizable by its "Cidre BAYEUX" label, the range (acquired by the AGRIAL group in 2016) is available in raw and sweet butchered ciders, which have been awarded several times at the Concours Général Agricole de Paris. Stamped with the European PGI logo, which guarantees their origin in the regional geographical area, they also bear the signature "Produit en Gourmandie". The family has even been enriched with a very trendy rosé cider and more recently with six 25 cl bottles of six packs. During the guided tour, not only will you discover the stages of production (orchard, cellars, packaging room) but you will also be seduced by the story of a family business proud of its history and its 87 years of existence.

Cider farm perched on the heights of the small village of Saint-Germain-de-Montgommery, south of Livarot. The cider is produced according to artisanal and ancestral methods whose recipe is preciously kept. But the friendly Gautard family likes to share a few little secrets with visitors.

After 38 years, Carol and Didier Gautard passed the torch to their two sons in 2022. The Perrey-Picot farm offers direct sales of its cider products, as well as red label chickens.

"The future of life will go through many." We enter this cellar to discover a true defender of nature and natural. Michel tells you lots of things about the lands and vines he visited, the nectars he tasted, from wines to spirits through champagne… More than 580 references (out of the existing 600) are present on the shelves. Useful, the map of vineyards, displayed in the store which gives the impression of seeing it more clearly and learning about the wines of Burgundy, between Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits, Côte Chalonnaise and Macon… for example. The champagne has no secret for him either: He tells you the story of this piece of land or the little square metres that make it possible to make a unique champagne. We also love the selection, more restricted but also selected of whiskies, calvados and rums and the "troubleshooting" side, located in the basement cellar. Ask to eat. Go and greet him, talk, come back…. It is exciting. Not only does he speak five languages but he has an elephant memory!

This cellar is one of the oldest shops on Rue de la Mer and you will be warmly welcomed. At the door, you will succumb to the impressive choice of wines, beers, whiskies, rums, and, of course, more local drinks like calvados, cider, and pommeau, well placed on the shelves. Here, among the best selections, you will find the wine of Calvados country (IGP, please), Les Arpents du Soleil, produced about forty kilometers from Ouistreham, near Saint Pierre-sur-Dives. Jean-Claude, the owner and faithful counselor of the house, will be able to guide you. A visit is required if you want to accompany your seafood tray with dignity, your freshly bought fish, or simply discover the wine of the month and other finds of the moment.

Located near the German battery of Longues-sur-Mer, Ferme Félicité not escape your desire of cider. A visit is essential by this property: Claire and Sebastian will gladly welcoming large, at least for a tasting. There are several ropes with their arch, the couple, added to the cultivation of cereal and cattle breeding, a cider apple orchard, high and low - stems. Production of some 500 bottles, very confidential in the years 1980, in consideration, today, more than 25 000 all year. Sweet cider, and gross medium-dry are acclaimed by loyal guests come, regularly to stock up. It is only due to the other. Let yourself be counted on a beautiful epic that has lasted since 1826, the cellar offers a range of excellent and organic products now: cider from the Pays d'Auge PDO, of course, Normandy pommeau, calvados, farm apple juice without forgetting perry or vinegar. You can also add to your basket the orchard fruit jam, 100% natural honey and caramel, made from the family milk (the brother's farm is opposite!) or cheeses and rillettes from neighbouring farms. If you are in a camper van, it's perfect timing! Not only will you be able to extend your tasting and your stay, the time to fill your basket with delicious souvenirs, but you will also be able to criss-cross the surroundings, on foot or by bike. Unless you prefer to stay in the gîte on the property for a little longer.

We like to walk through these places where we find, at random, a preserved farm in the Pays d'Auge. On the Route du Cidre, a few kilometres from Cambremer and Beuvron-en-Auge, Repentigny is a hamlet where you can pass if you do not show a little observation. It cannot be repeated often enough: on winding country roads, take the time to stroll at the risk of missing out on wealth. Ferme de la Vallée au Tanneur is one of them. Back in Normandy to perpetuate the family tradition, these cider growers have followed in the footsteps of the best to develop their land. Ginette and Jean-Luc Cénier are authentic dairy producers, certainly, but also cider producers. On 70 hectares of orchards full of grass, they will be delighted to welcome you. Do not hesitate! A tasting is offered where you can enjoy homemade products, including many medals from renowned competitions: Cambremer PDO Pays d'Auge cider (half dry), raw farm cider, pommeau de Normandie AOC, calvados AOC, white drop, calvados liqueurs (pear, apple, black currant), farm perry, apple juice, cider vinegar. Nothing but treasures. A cottage awaits you not far from where you can prolong your pleasure and roll in the grass of our green meadows. Don't forget to fill up with memories for your friends!

Christophe and Delphine will be pleased to present their operations, property of the Boissel family since 1792. Located in the heart of the Auge country 1880 kilometres from Deauville and Honfleur, Cidricole manufacturing has been transmitted from father to son since. Production comes from the only processing of apples harvested on the 15 hectares of orchards, the quality of products resident in the assembly of some fifty varieties of apples. No name for this stuffy stuffy cider: for five generations, know-how has been a reputation for excellence. The Alliance of New Technologies and respect for traditions makes this cider an authentic beverage that meets everyone's taste: raw cider (rather bitter, perfect on dishes and especially cheese in raw milk), half-dry cider (fruity slightly sweet for aperitifs and desserts), sweet cider (very sweet and scented very little alcoholic alcoholic ideal for desserts). Particularly attractive, "Arsène" is typical of the house: it is a cider whose crushed apples steeped a week in their juice before pressing. The fermentation takes place, then in small oak was new to bring a vanilla note. Produced in small quantities, it is a function of vintage and is not (unfortunately) produced every year. Opened to the public in 1989, their cider house reflects their passion. These producer-growers have taken over the family torch and pay tribute to this know-how by winning, almost every year, titles and medals (gold and silver) for their farm and appellation ciders, on the occasion of regional and national competitions and festivals. A visit to the cellar, the old wine press and its granite tower, followed by a tasting are essential to appreciate the value and quality of the products produced, carefully balanced. The range is completed by calvados with a registered designation, perry, "cidraigre" (unpasteurized cider vinegar), apple juice, jellies and jams.

Nestled in the valley, at the confluence of the Orbiquet and the Cressonnière, south-east of Lisieux, it is beautiful landscapes and pretty farms to discover. In the heart of this green valley: La Ferme des Roches. To access it, you need to be able to sneak into the paths of the back country. As much as it can be seen as a stop imposed in the tourist circuits… Joël Most manufactures its raw, highly fruity peasant cider - since 1987 with varieties of local apples that it itself has grafted: Bisquet, Rimbault, Putting, St. Martin, Small kind, Cow's skin, windmill… Names of poetry… No legend or label on this custom production that really deserves a stop. Small frustration for groups and buses, will you say. But you can always enjoy a walking or digestive walk. The efforts will be rewarded, the best and most appreciated tasting, is offered by the owner who will be happy to deliver you some home secrets.

In the heart of Auge country, 23 minutes from Lisieux and a few kilometres from the nearby Eure department, Benoît Charbonneau installed his family farm in Moyaux years ago. High-stem apple trees, low-stem apple trees, orchards have ten varieties of apples with evocative names - the Bisquet, the Red Fruit, the Bedan, the Saint-Martin… - selected for the development of its ciders: farmer (soft and raw) and AOC Auge country. During a visit, you will tour the owner with, in the programme, a presentation of the manufacture of cider before the stage of tasting and the passage (near) forced to the shop which contains other products of the range (vinegar and candied cider, pommel, calvados, apple juice). If cider is the main activity, the farm has other strings to its arc to keep you. Here you also enjoy animals (hens, donkeys and horses are among the residents) and many rural cottages will allow you to spend an excellent weekend in the countryside.

In the Serrée family, here is the father, Rémy, and his sons, Ludovic and Axel. It would take a book to write their story. As conscientious and passionate heirs, they share the work to get the best out of their orchards - Cambremer terroir and Pays d'Auge vintage - the best of the best. The case is not new. Because in the tight family, we must not forget the grandfather with eloquent titles: producer, harvester, distiller and itinerant distiller. That's all said and done. All you have to do is push the door of the "Pressoir" and imagine that not so long ago, cider was made in the old-fashioned way, in the press (hence the name of the farmhouse). To say that the family was born in an apple is only a step away. From family consumption, Rémy went into business (in 1999) with a passion and know-how that was carefully balanced. No medals here! Word of mouth is more than enough for reputation. Let's add some authenticity to it. Not the one you read in the books but the one you see in your eyes. The virus is naturally transmitted since Ludovic and Axel have, in turn, taken over in recent years. Very raw, very dry, semi-dry and sweet cider are among a wide range of ciders that you will have to taste before leaving the region. You will be welcomed with open arms for a (free) tasting of cider but also calvados and pommeau (AOC), in the heart of a small house by size but big by talent. A house at man's height and at soul's height...

From harvest to sale, everything happens in the heart of this 17th-century farm. In the refurbished cellars, Philippe Marie and Thomas Pelletier invite you to discover the production and processing of apple cider. Several generations have succeeded one another in developing the family business, which produces a wide range of sweet beverages. The star here is the semi-dry farm cider "Vach'Ment Bon". A house creation with generous aromas that is left to age for two years so that the cider can express all its tannic structure.

This family property, created in 1923, is located at the gates of Pont-L'Evêque. The planting of 45 hectares of orchards now allows the production of 500 tons of apples. All products are processed within the estate, a place of production and processing from apple to bottle. Michel Bréavoine and his team have been concentrating their know-how for 30 years (1989) to extract the best from each harvest. Enriched year after year, this high quality production - among the best in our opinion - contains raw and sweet top-of-the-range Normandy farm ciders (PGIs) of recognized consistency. Farm ciders, with their very fruity taste, breathe nature and go particularly well with cheeses and desserts. Domaine du Lieu-Gosset is also a producer of famous Normandy perry, pommeau, cider vinegar, apple juice and calvados (Fine, Reserve, Hors d'Age). The company is affiliated to the "Saveurs de Normandie" label, the regional collective signature that identifies Normandy's quality products.

At the heart of the wine route, 20 km from Deauville, Domaine de Montreuil welcomes you all year round. Access is all the more charming and rustic, as the Auge country's small roads are shaded. Just follow the signs of the Cider Route at Cambremer to discover the 30 hectares of traditional high stem orchards. For thirteen generations, Domaine de Montreuil proposes a wide range of cider AOC Country Auge, pommel, apple juice, Calvados AOC Auge country 4 to 40 years old (the oldest bottle dates back to 1969). You can come and enjoy them and buy them on site. Michèle and Patrice Giard, relayed by their daughter Estelle, will be happy to welcome you on their property.

An under-reported producer hiding in the countryside augurs well. Don't hesitate to get off the beaten track on the Lisieux side, between Hermival-le-Vaux, Moyaux and the Hôtellerie. There you will find treasures and, above all, the Houley Distillery and its Pays d'Auge calvados, "La Ribaude". Les Ribaudiens being, also, the name given to the inhabitants of Ouilly du Houley, you will certainly be told the origin during your visit. Calvados has been distilled here for nine generations, but not only. Normandy pommeau, cider, perry, organic apple juice, sparkling apple juice, organic cider vinegar, apple concentratewill fill your basket (take it big enough!). You can even find horse treats here! You will be warmly welcomed in the heart of this beautiful property with its architecture and environment as typical as natural: half-timbered manor house, century-old trees, apple trees. The distillery is open every day. For a guided and personalized visit of the stills and cellars, orchards, you can announce your arrival by phone. It is also an opportunity to admire the superb Merrain oak barrels before continuing the conversation over a tasting. "Once upon a time, there were apples, apple trees and men".

With Jean-Marc Berthelot and Vincent Guyot, the beer runs here of happy days. In Aunay-sur-Odon, the duo produces top-fermented craft beers. The colour of the labels varies: white for the Hefeweizen, red for the triple blonde (close to abbey beers), grey for the brown (aromas of grilled cereals and notes of chocolate), green for the winter beer (flavours of nuts). Their beers, which are either must-haves or short-lived brews, have won over the most prestigious competitions and you will come across them everywhere during your stay.

Situated just before Honfleur coming from Deauville, this superb 25-hectare family estate deserves a stopover. You will be welcomed by Agathe Letellier, mistress of the place, Sandrine or Caroline: the visit, the nectars and other cider delights are yours. Cider, calvados, apple juice, cider vinegar, pommeau... the list is long of the house's productions! This 15 ha orchard produces an organic cider stamped with the organic label and the PGI Cidre de Normandie. The apples come from cider varieties producing sweet, bittersweet, and tart fruits. The natural fermentation lasts 3 months before the blending of the different vintages, then the filtration, the bottling, and the natural bubbling.
