It is quite simply the best table of the Menabe, and, dare we say it, almost of all Mada! A real culinary journey, for ridiculous prices compared to the quality. The menu, on a large slate, gives pride of place to fresh and local products: tilapia terrine with black olives and tamarind vinaigrette, zebu steak with physalis, papaya tartar and pineapple fritters... to name but a few dishes. In addition, the service is just as impeccable. It's best to order in advance if you're making a quick stopover in the city.

This establishment, located in the Sun Beach hotel, offers a very nice menu: for example, shrimp bisque, seafood salad, grilled lobster or tournedos with pepper... Great hunter before the Eternal, Chez Cuccu regularly proposes excellent game (for the amateurs). For dessert, let yourself be tempted by the chocolate mousse! A good address. For the record, the restaurant was originally built on the site of the current Palissandre Hotel in 1988.

The best address of the city, on the beach: an ideal situation to watch the sunset with a cold beer... or at any time! The structure of the restaurant has been entirely rebuilt on stilts, after the passage of a cyclone, but has not lost its soul. The decoration is very nice, and the view, therefore, unbeatable! Patricia always welcomes you with a smile, she is available and attentive. Her dishes are copious and very well prepared. Menu according to the market and the catch of the day.

Under a large straw hut, next to La Capannina. The prices remain low for copious and well executed dishes, especially the delicious seafood: try the paella or the seafood gratin. But the main attraction is the grilled lobster and prawns, which are served around large tables. The menu also proposes pizzas and Malagasy specialities. Only drawback: the service is sometimes long. A few aperitifs in perspective and the trick is played!

This downtown bar-restaurant-pizzeria on the main street attracts quite a few residents at aperitif time. Fish and seafood specialties are prepared with care, depending on the market. The Mada-Bar also offers Malagasy classics such as ravitoto au coco, as well as less common dishes like sanglier sauce tomate. Connoisseurs will also find a wide selection of arranged rums and other punches. The homemade ice creams are excellent. A small local institution that we recommend.

In a pleasant setting on the edge of the canal, very green, a varied menu offering wood-fired pizzas, meats, fish, pasta... Everything is very good. We even found there the taste of the caramel cream of our grandmothers! We also like the homemade chocolate mousse, a treat. La Capannina also proposes a very nice menu of Malagasy dishes, from the most classical to the less usual ones to find in restaurants. We also like the large choice of arranged rums, which we will drink with pleasure in company of Léa, the friendly owner.

Chez Dédé is the address that everyone knows in Belo. Tourists as well as locals meet there, around a cuisine without much pretension but which remains good and especially very friendly. The inhabitants of Belo have their beer there in the morning, when they take a break from their schooner construction site. The chef offers two dishes of the day, simple and fresh. Dédé also offers some rudimentary bungalows. The restaurant's shaded terrace is particularly appreciated in the warm hours.

Laurence has even created recipe cards to train her Malagasy teams in the flavors and customs of other countries. A treat for an excellent quality-price ratio!

Nana and Philippe managed to make a nice little restaurant where you can find the classics of Franco-Malagasy cuisine, inspired by seafood, but not only. Philippe is Breton... so much to say that the buckwheat pancakes are worth a visit. And on Sundays, more family, it's couscous, cassoulet, lasagne or tajine! L'Etoile is also famous for its vegetarian burgers, as well as for its fabulous collection of arranged rums with multiple flavours (3,000 Ar per glass)! With good hearing, good tasting.
