Bjørk Restaurant is located on the second floor of Glasshuset (Shopping Gallery). The place is trendy and fashionable with its bay windows. In the evening, the place is perfect for occasions, as well as for everyday meals. On the menu: pizzas, tapas, meats and the chef's recommendation: grilled cod served with peas and potatoes aioli. For dessert, we recommend the Bomboloni: a warm bread roll filled with lemon cream served with pistachio cream and pear compote. Both elegant and unpretentious.

In the village of Ekkerøy there is a small restaurant on the waterfront, open in summer only. Here you can find a delicious and creamy soup of fish, salmon, cod, shrimp... Or the famous King Crab, in the charming and authentic surroundings of the old fishing village! Local products of course, fresh and prepared in the traditional way. A real treat! As if we were entering a miniature village, we are at Trasti and Trine's. At the same time room and table of hosts: in a country cottage, the rooms, in the other, a small bakery, here, the restaurant and there, the kennel... Once in the restaurant, we swap our shoes for pretty woolen slippers that slide on the floor. On the table, the plates are out of wood, engraved Trasti and Trine. Just behind the Polar Museet, in Tromsø's historic district, café Bårstua has taken over an old wooden shack. People come to enjoy the local cuisine, but not only! All proceeds go to a charity working to combat addiction. You can also curl up on the sofa by the fireplace with a hot coffee and homemade cake, or soak up the sunshine on the pretty terrace. In summer, the place becomes a party venue, with concerts and lazy afternoons in the sun!

In this warm and inviting wine bar, you can choose between the cosy banquette, the little lounge on the platform, or the high tables, before ordering a good wine, whether Chilean, French or Italian... For an aperitif, we recommend the Fjøls, cheese and charcuterie boards to be enjoyed without moderation. All kinds of Italian-style boards are served in a subdued atmosphere, in a decor that's both chic and relaxed.

Run by two young figures from Tromsø, the Bardus bistro, adjacent to the Bardus bar, will introduce you to local specialities in an inventive way. Here, the atmosphere is bistronomic on the plate and relaxed at the table. The products are fresh, local and seasonal and the cuisine is influenced by southern Europe, which we assume is France. In a wooded setting, we are happy to settle down for a meal that will hang out. In the summer, if the sun is shining, we settle down on the veranda terrace to enjoy a bit of sweetness.

The Pit Stop Café and Restaurant, despite its American restaurant/drive-through look, offers a menu that includes traditional dishes, pizzas and burgers. The generous plates will satisfy big appetites. Ideal for a stopover for travelers in motorhomes or motorcyclists, the service is fast and friendly. All in all, a good roadside restaurant that will satisfy both a backpacker and a family audience. The plus : access to a terminal for electric cars !

A rather nice option and very popular with Norwegians. Lovolds is a native Bodø chain and you can eat there in a family canteen atmosphere. The big plus is the view of the harbour, the boats, the seagulls playing with the wind and the sun. You can choose from a selection of classic dishes, sandwiches and salads. Each day of the week a special is offered at a special price, for example Tuesday it is a shrimp wrap + coffee for 85 NOK. An address with many meat dishes.

The Lavvu restaurant belongs to the Igloo Hotel. The setting is neat, a mix of wood and modern lines. You'll taste reindeer, lamb, salmon, local berries picked in the area and many other Sami specialties. A fine address, for comfortable budgets, that lets you live the adventure of a change of scenery to the full. Rest assured, if some of the locals are made of ice, the restaurant is a real one! No need to put on your ski gear, and no risk of getting stuck to the cutlery!

The culinary concept is Asian cuisine mixed with some Scandinavian ideas. You can go there by snowmobile, there is of course a place to park them in front of the restaurant! The windows are very big, so you can have a great view of the surrounding nature. A great experience for the eyes and the taste buds.

The restaurant focuses on elaborate local cuisine, while the bistro is more oriented towards family-style, more accessible fare. The place is renowned throughout the country for its Arctic specialties and the inventiveness of its cuisine. The establishment also hosts events such as concerts, film screenings, weddings...

The establishment is famous for tasting and selling coffee, but it also sells delicious home-made sweet and savoury dishes. The cuisine is rather exotic, with Turkish and Mexican inspiration, so, in fact, world cuisine! Several vegetarian options. Obviously burgers, but also the famous six-hearted waffles typical of Norway. Very nice for any kind of break: for coffee, lunch, snack or dinner, or even just to have a glass of wine. The hot chocolates are to die for!

A restaurant of Indian cuisine. The menu is varied and the dishes are very good. If you're tired of burgers and sushi, if you're in the mood for a light meal and why not vegetarian, then here's the Great Gandhi. For the undecideds, in other words, for those who don't like to choose so as not to give up, this restaurant had the good idea to propose a buffet with three dishes to choose from (lamb curry + vegetarian korma + chicken curry) with salad, rice, naans, coffee and dessert, all for 389 NOK. Top notch!

This sandwich shop, bakery, pastry shop and deli serves hot and cold dishes at a good price. For a fish dish, you can expect to pay between NOK 149 and 179. Other dishes are cheaper, such as lasagne, served with a salad (NOK 85). Tapas are also available. This place doesn't look like much, but their home-made products are very good and can save you a trip to a more expensive restaurant. Desserts and cakes should be ordered the day before for the next day. A birthday to celebrate?

This restaurant is located in the Rica hotel of the city. He is well known for his fish dishes, very fine. The quality is at the meeting and prices are reasonable, especially as the frame and view on the port are pleasant.

The former village grocery store is home to one of the Lofoten's nicest restaurants. The floor has kept its natural stone slabs and the walls are made of rough planks. On the first floor, the two rooms are decorated with a small boat suspended from the ceiling and decorated with some dried codfish. The service is provided by trendy young girls dressed in their traditional leather aprons borrowed from fishermen. The menu offers a fish soup, cod, of course, salted and dried mutton.

Osteria Kreo is a small Italian restaurant located in the center of Mo I Rana. The atmosphere is warm, thanks to the friendly, diligent service (in English, no less), but also to the number of customers: it's best to book early! Although the number of dishes is not very large, the menu is varied: pizzas, charcuterie boards, meats or pasta (cooked al dente), all in fairly generous portions. The selection of wines is also noteworthy. A good place for lovers of Roman cuisine!

Housed in an elegant contemporary building built on the site of an old fishery, this restaurant offers a cuisine that is very mindful of its environment, punctuated by seasonal local produce. You'll enjoy fine bistronomic dishes inspired by tradition and the chef's creativity. You'll be presented with 3-course "Sea" or "Land" menus. Vegetarians are pampered with the "Garden" menu and a wide choice of dishes based on local cuisine. There's also a 6-course menu for the whole table. A renowned address.

A magnificent restaurant located on the harbor in a rorbu. From inside, large windows offer a breathtaking view. An ideal setting to savor local products and recipes, mainly fish, of course. The restaurant's interior is warm and inviting, decorated in traditional style with blue walls and wooden furniture. In summer, you can sit out on the outdoor terrace and enjoy a fine Norwegian evening, and perhaps even the special atmosphere of the midnight sun!

Despite its slightly old-fashioned façade, make no mistake: the new owners are determined to offer their customers modern cuisine in a warm, relaxed atmosphere. The emphasis is on fresh produce and generous dishes. The menu features Western cuisine, with suggestions for pizzas, burgers and finger foods, as well as grilled meats and shrimps. The variety of dishes is appreciated, but not at the expense of quality. Reservations are recommended in view of the large crowds.

Local, unpretentious café, bar and restaurant. People come here to wait for the ferry, to meet up with friends or to eat. Unsurprisingly, the menu focuses mainly on seafood. A few meats are also on the menu, but on the whole, the dishes are fairly simple and served all year round. In summer, you can sit out on the terrace and enjoy the view of the mountains and harbor. Want a good Burgr without pretension? This is the place. In this tiny restaurant, three large high tables, a terrace, and Mario. The hero of our favorite game seems to have been elected mascot of the place. The Beatles in the loudspeakers and on the walls, the famous Pac Man, Sonic or Zelda posters... But before we make burgers there, you should know that between these walls, at the time when Tromsø had only 80 inhabitants, was built the first bistro of the city.
