The captivating history of ski jumping is rooted in the enchanting setting of Courchevel, a recognized sanctuary for the discipline, acclaimed for its Olympic stadium and its unwavering commitment to nurturing emerging talent. Let's go back in time to the 1940s, when a handful of daring adventurers wrote the first chapters of this saga on a humble wooden springboard. Over the years, ski jumping has become an integral part of alpine ski training, perpetuating the birth of this growing legend.

It all began in 1951 with the construction of a service ropeway, a rudimentary device designed to transport equipment and tools by cable. In 1952, the cableway was officially inaugurated. Today, the cableway takes you to an altitude of 2,010 meters in just 3 minutes, offering spectacular views in both summer and winter. With gradients of up to 92%, an ascent of 586 meters, and some 170,000 passengers carried in winter.

It is in free access but classified difficult. One via ferrata that derives its name from the waterfall flowing through this place, fed by the torrent of the Glière. Starting from the Bieux area, then follow signs indicating "Cascade of the Fresh" and climbing school. It takes 1 hour to 1 hour 30 rise. Aussois is a charming ski resort situated between 1500 and 2750m altitude, in the heart of Savoie. It offers a warm and friendly atmosphere, ideal for families. The Colorado course offers a 1,500-meter descent with exhilarating turns, while the Eldorado takes you on a 3,000-meter run to Belle-Côte. Take your position and throw yourself into the adventure, negotiating the turns, accelerating and staying on course. You'll experience a different gliding sensation, while enjoying the panoramic view of the majestic Mont Blanc. Departures are either from the foot of the Colorado chairlift or from Belle-Côte, preceded by practical tips for an optimal experience.

Despite its southerly exposure, Champagny enjoys ski-to-door access to the village from mid-December to mid-April

The Grande Motte glacier is a must-see, despite its seemingly small size. It rises to an altitude of 3,656m. Accessible in both winter and summer (late June to early August), this glacier offers a unique experience. Ski on almost eternal snow along the 20 kilometers of trails and 750 meters of vertical drop. The more adventurous can tackle the moguls or the snowpark, while mountain bikers can take the funicular back down to Val Claret.
