In the centre of the village of Juliénas, the old disused church since 1868 has become the Cellar of the Old Church. The rehabilitation took place in 1954 under the impetus of Victor Peyret and it was now the Association of Producers of the Raw juliénas that settled there. A unique place of its kind, the cellar has contributed to the reputation of the village and the believer. The Cellar of the Old Church is a place of tasting and animation and welcomes each year the Juliénales, 3 days of festivities around wine, music and beaujolaise gastronomy. In an old restored house, a wide range of "Aux Saveurs du Terroir" products. This brotherhood officially represents the Beaujolais country of golden stones and plays an essential role in promoting this wine. The official annual induction followed by a meal and dancing evening is held on Saturday December 1. After the Second World War, the Beaujolais winegrowers decided to unite to defend their interests by founding the Beaujolais Wine Union.
