Taking over from an emblematic address, Mel' has done everything to make you feel at home. The name is just a play on words because you are not asked to bring your napkin ring. Mel offers a short menu of small, reassuring dishes, based on fresh produce: hot goat's cheese toast, mixed salads, sandwiches. Simple dishes that appeal to everyone, including children.
LA GUEULE DU LOUP
Read moreLa Gueule du Loup is not a pirouette by the owner to indicate that the customer has stumbled upon the wrong address. The name simply refers to the eponymous wood that borders Malonne. Jean-Luc Fautré offers a nice appetite suppressant. You can find French fries, but also sandwiches and (small) meals: salads, homemade American, vol-au-vent, chicory au gratin, etc. The must is the Queen, a hamburger-style bun with just about everything you can imagine. In autumn, the Savoyard is a killer. Ice cream and homemade pastries.

Their efficient and simple cuisine (hot or cold sandwiches, dumplings, pancakes, ice creams...) does not hide a warm welcome and an ideal location on the banks of the Meuse, conducive to the spirit's stroll. It is an ideal place to put down your hiking bag or to get off your bike; it is also a strategic point on a day of visit to the famous nearby Gardens. In fact, the chef had a distinguished gastronomic career before taking over this local institution. Petits-gris de Warnant, trout from the Leffe stream, regional cured meats, locally-raised meat, or the sweetbreads with morel mushrooms that are the pride of the house.

Catherine and Axel do their name proud with dishes that feature local ingredients... but not only. Fish from the North Sea coexist with farmhouse pork with Bister mustard, game in season, and strawberries and chocolate are the special guests for dessert. Axel Devaux is a graduate of the Namur hotel school. His menu is bimonthly and features home-made products.

Read moreIf you are passing between Florenville and Etalle, make a stop at this very nice burger bar, installed in the old station of Sainte-Marie-sur-Semois. The menu (burgers based on local products, fries and beers) is well stocked with, among others, a Trappist burger where Orval cheese is honored, the peasant with Ardenne ham or the Franky and its secret sauce. So good that Franky has received several awards. Several local beers are proposed, notably those of the Clochette brewery, very close to the establishment.

Calamari, cod croquettes, Smyrna dumplings... the portions are generous and the service pleasant. The boss, always ready to listen, will be able to guide a clientele of novice gourmets. The reduced menu guarantees the freshness of only seasonal products and compositions according to the chef's mood. However, we regret the small size of the place during busy periods (remember to book).

Here the dough of the pizzas is perfect and therefore the pizza is wonderful! As for the rest, Italian specialities rub shoulders with our Franco-Belgian gastronomy with some home cooking dishes such as tortellini with brodo, penne al forno or the Lombard picatta. But what would Don Dino be without his joker of a boss who, with his baritone voice, sings with talent?
LE PEANUTS

A subdued and relaxed atmosphere, a wooded and warm decoration will accompany the customers throughout their passage in the establishment, until late in the night. The kitchen is open for lunch and dinner and the specialties of the house are the penne scampi tartuffata and the Italian beef steak. For the rest, a nice list of beers from home and abroad.
