The federation manages cards and stamps, fights poaching, protects the white-legged crayfish, participates in the maintenance and development of rivers, etc. It must be said that the region is very well equipped in rivers, lakes and ponds. Workshops in nature (20 € per 6 afternoons, off-board prices) and internships (30 € 4 days, off-card, picnic and snack) are offered for young people aged 8 to 16, a playful way of learning them in addition to respecting the environment. All material necessary for learning fishing is provided. It has also been designed to provide access to the pontoons for disabled people, on 18 sites in the department.

Classified as a Natura 2000 site and Protected Natural Site for its landscapes and biodiversity, it is part of the Périgord-Limousin Regional Nature Park. Its calm, fish-filled waters make it a popular fishing spot. A 6 km marked hiking trail with footbridge and bird observatory allows you to discover the flora and fauna of the region. Between farming, fishing, hiking and birdwatching, the Étang de la Pouge offers a wide range of nature-friendly activities.

If you wish, you can buy your fish or simply put it back in the water. Retail sale all year round at the fish farm in the afternoons and on the markets of Tulle (Wednesday) and Brive (Saturday).
