Getting around by boat and ferry Languedoc Roussillon

Since its creation, the city of Sète is particularly attached to its port. Nowadays, it has several activities: fishing, trade and yachting. The fishing sector is located downtown and contributes to the traditional and typical image of the city. The commercial sector contributes to the competitiveness of the companies in the region. The port of Bouzigues is the first stop of the Canal du Midi on the Etang de Thau. It is a typical small port of a charming and preserved village, which gave its name to the oysters produced in the pond. On the practical side, the port is composed of two basins for pleasure boating and fishing. They are accompanied by a pontoon and a quay of more than 100 meters long. It has 92 moorings for pleasure craft and 16 moorings for passing barges. The history of this port and its environment is told in the museum of the Thau Lagoon, located a few meters from the dock.

Cap d'Agde has two perfectly equipped ports: the main port and the Ambonne port. The first one, impressive by its size, is committed to limit its environmental impact and guarantee the quality of its waters, it holds the labels "Clean Ports in Languedoc-Roussillon" and "Blue Flag". The second is located in the heart of the naturist village. It allows nearly 300 boats to be welcomed. Access to the area remains regulated throughout the year.

The municipality of Marseillan has three port areas: Marseillan-ville, Marseillan-plage and the departmental port of Tabarka which has modern facilities. The port is now pedestrian, which ensures greater tranquility around the boats. The place has kept all its authenticity, like the basalt stones of the crown which have been cleaned and replaced identically. A vast esplanade makes the place pleasant, while a salt water fountain, which creates a sublime mirror, makes this space sparkle.

The charming little marina of Trèbes, on the Canal du Midi, is located opposite the tourist office. Mooring is free, water is provided by the town hall, and electricity is charged by the Boat. The port is just a stone's throw from the town center and the Carcassonne bus stop.

Narbonne's river port is located on the Canal de la Robine, the essential artery that keeps this ancient Roman city moving. The Robine, a UNESCO World Heritage site, welcomes yachtsmen all year round on 2.5 kilometers of 4 quays: the Quai Central (Quai des Barques), located in the heart of the historic city and reserved for temporary stopovers, the Quai Vallière, the Quai d'Alsace and the Quai de l'Escoute. To get to the Théâtre de la Mer on concert evenings, a public boat-bus service has been set up by the town of Sète. Park your car at the Mas Coulet parking lot and board from the Quai Paul Riquet towards the Quai de la Consigne. Departures are every 20 minutes. The crossing is free, and you can enjoy an evening at the festival without wasting time looking for a parking space. What a charming way to travel by boat!

When the weather's fine, boat shuttles run between the Île singulière and Mèze. From the Sète train station bridge to the port of Mèze, the crossing takes around 40 minutes, and there are 7 round trips a day. The boat has a capacity of 95 seats, 70 of which are covered, and is fully accessible to people with reduced mobility. There is also space for strollers and bicycles.
