MARCHÉ ALBERT THOMAS

The Place Albert Thomas market is highly appreciated by the people of Stephan in search of good products bought directly from the producers. Many restaurateurs also come here early on Saturday mornings to help themselves. A real reference in terms of quality! You will find fruits, vegetables, cheese and yoghurts, bread... The old varieties are in the spotlight on the square! If the Saturday morning market attracts the largest number of exhibitors and customers, the Friday market is also very interesting because of its specificity as an organic market exclusively. As for the Tuesday and Thursday markets, they allow you to stock up on provisions during the week! We are in favour!

MARCHÉ DE TRADITION

Openair market

Rive-de-Gier welcomes one of the largest markets, the first of the agglomeration and the second in the department! Concrete walks were removed during the work in 2007. The new coating, pedestrian crossings and the Haspel footbridge, the new paved canal street and water jets, helped revitalize the site. Every Tuesday and Friday you can walk through the aisles filled with fruit and vegetable stalls, various food products and textiles.

Shoppers will discover a selection of artisanal products and fresh items from local producers. It is not very big but you can find the essentials. As in all the small markets, there is a good atmosphere where all the generations mix. Further down, the banks are frequented by fishermen, hikers, jousters in the summer, and boat rowers. So, after shopping at the market, why not continue south of the bridge to stroll along the large car park where sometimes there are fun activities?

MARCHÉ

Every Wednesday morning, the Joyeuse market is one of the most popular in the region for locals and tourists alike. You'll find the usual array of fruit, vegetables, cheeses, breads and other fresh produce, as well as clothes, books, local crafts and souvenirs. Out of season, this market is already a respectable size even in the depths of winter. In July and August, it's at its peak. At this time of year, we recommend parking outside the village and walking to the market.
