LE KARACHI
Read moreWhen it is said that Le Karachi is the first Indo-Pakistani restaurant in Lyon, it is for two reasons. First, the establishment was created 35 years ago thanks to the work of Mr Ashraf, originally from Punjab. Then, because Le Karachi is undoubtedly the best restaurant in Lyon in its category. Near the Part-Dieu, lovely welcome to make us settle in one of the two tastefully decorated rooms. Crafted wood on the walls and chairs, real sculptures, a metal fountain and a perfect service that provides us with all the explanations necessary from the aperitifs to the desserts. Characteristic of this authentic Indian restaurant, they do not serve alcohol and you can enjoy Indian cuisine accompanied by tea after having sipped a fruit cocktail. To vary the pleasure, Futé was tempted by a pleasant menu Voyageur at just under €30 in order to enjoy a delicious "Mix Tandoori Spécial", assortment plate of starters, including an excellent tikka of lamb or a charcoal grilled prawns. To be followed with the Karachi chicken presented with its silver leaf (edible) or a "Fish Massala", the chef's speciality, all of them are to be eaten with a wonderful rice flavoured with spices. Fine choice of desserts with a rice pudding flavoured with cardamom or small fritters with Indian butter, sprinkled with coconut. Generous and tasty cuisine in a friendly setting, change of scenery guaranteed.

TANDOOR AND WOK
Read moreCan you Dépayser in a "New" neighborhood like the ZAC of the Good Milk? Yes, and Smart proves it by inviting you to make a culinary trip through Asia on a quiet street at the foot of a recent building. Tandoor & Wok, the first Asian restaurant 100% halal on Lyon, offers a nice showcase, promise of a bright room where one feels good at lunch time among colleagues working, friends or family. We stop at the counter where the smile is always for an excellent welcome. At Tandoor & Wok, the kitchens are open and you don't hide anything. Between Asian wok and Indian tandoori, cooking comes under your eyes in the hands of a Vietnamese stove and Indian cooks. You can order by phone and get delivered, but also take on the spot to take advantage of the big desk. At a table, you choose between India and China, unless you mix them both on the room or on the Sans Frontières menu. Smart regularly cracks on the Aloy menu - delicious spring rolls, served beef with Thai rice, Banana Doughnut - or Ejad - tasty pakora, chicken curry or kima Madras, plaow to finish, while adding an excellent cheese nan baked in the tandoor oven - less than 16 €. No alcohol, of course, but you have to taste a lassi to get fun. An address whose reputation goes well beyond the neighbourhood.
NAMASTAY
Read moreAn address that surpassed the course of the thirties. As well, it is one of the best gourmet institutions in the city. There is nothing to hide in this institution. The best proof is that the kitchen is large in the dining room and you can admire the chef preparing the orders under our greedy eyes. Warm welcome, friendly atmosphere, friendly atmosphere, you feel quickly at ease in this room decorated without too much ostentation with its large stained glass bays and close tables. But our pleasure does not stop in the eye and we are also happy to taste the contents of generous plates. Love Indian cuisine, you will be spoiled, both by the quality of the preparations and by the seasonings with soft spices: many shades of doughnuts, such as this pakoras pakoras, décortiquées shrimp doughnuts, coated with chickpeas. To begin with, there are also numerous variations around the ka ka, while all breads cooked to tandoor are wonderful. For dishes, always spices to accompany cooked chicken and lamb and South Indian specialities (served only in the evening) with a special massala dossa. The choice of vegetables alone makes it possible to order a vegetarian meal, while desserts also surprise us. India is definitely a great country of tradition of hospitality and cooking.
