CADEAU GOURMAND

Caviste

Closed - Open to 09h30

Located in the middle of the commercial streets of Saulieu, the Cadeau Gourmand is the shop you should not miss to bring back a delicious souvenir of the region. François Dubois who created this shop over 10 years ago has entirely arranged this latter in 2016 on rue du Sallier. The new shop is an invitation to purchase good products, its 100% pine decoration is very relevant. A revival that sweetly smells quality and local ingredients and which has enlarged its wine section with the Cave de la Basilique. You naturally find the great names of mustard, Fallot or Reine de Dijon, the Anis de Flavigny, Edmond Briottet's liqueurs and alcohols, Emmanuelle Baillard nectars and syrups. Many items are produced in Morvan, like honey, gingerbreads and beer. By the way, the Beer section is interesting because it makes us discover several local productions. The Cadeau Gourmand regularly renews its selections following the seasons and the innovations. If you think of offering your choice, do not hesitate to make up a gift basket that you can exactly calculate but which will surely have an effect! The striking red burgundy façade invites you to push its door.

BARON DOMAINE DE LA VALLÉE

Caviste

The village of Baron is located in the canton of Charolles. This is where Olivier and Véronique Bouillot opened, two seasons the «domaine de la Vallée», in their ancient farmhouse dating from the 18 th century, in a property of 3 hectares offering a calm, often forgotten by urban dwellers. An established establishment combining both the label 4 ears and the Charm label, which is extremely rare. Olivier, an antique designer, will be happy to bring to his hosts the treasures of Burgundy, while Véronique, Designer, especially for Les Gîtes de France, will make them visit the house, a veritable showcase of his know-how in the area of patina. It's also, which in the morning will put them in appetite with a homemade breakfast. For meals, guests can go to the nearby farm-hostel. Located near a pond, the Valley area offers fishing and cycling on small countryside roads.

Already present in Auxerre, we love this shop specialized in wines, spirits, beers and other waters, syrups and fruit juices. A multitude of references are present, classified by wine regions or countries of origin. We also like the delicatessen section and its beautiful range of local products. The tea and coffee section is also worth a look. The wine merchant will accompany you in your choices, your desires, and will be in charge of making you discover the different vintages and their particularities. CAVEAU DEMONT ET FONTANELLE

Caviste

With its huge colorful sign, this Ali Baba cave of wine and large wines is unmistakable, just a few steps from the arcades. The reception is very warm, a large bottle in front, the great names of wines displayed on an array, we know that one will necessarily find his happiness among the 300 names announced. You only have to enter the cellar to fall directly into hundreds of bottles. The most impressive: a lot of jeroboams scattered everywhere. The Demont and Fontanelle cellar is more of the wines of Burgundy wines, of course, but also of Bordeaux, wines from the Jura and Beaujolais wines. Ask for the years, the best raw ones, everything is there. Some bottles go back to the 1940 s with nothing illogical when we know that the shop has existed since 1949. There are also all the scholarships. But the vault does not consist only of wines, since there is also armagnac, whisky, champagne, liqueurs, water of life, in bottles with original shapes. So many gift ideas should delight amateurs. With moderation of course but with friends above all!

DOMAINE DE CHAMPGRENON

Winery

A witness to a rich history, the Domaine is now a 17 hectare landscaped park, open to the promenade and place of numerous events.

From the castle of Champgrenon (demolished in 1920), there are still remains. In particular, the door of the sunset, a magnificent building whose pediment displays "Champgrenon, temple of Des and Apollo" in tribute to the first owner: Aimé de Rymon (1573-1645), prosecutor of the king.

The property passed, by alliance to the family of Rambuteau, which valorisa it: a new east-facing castle, a landscaped park made by Jean-Marie Morel, creator of numerous national parks and gardens, a cooler and a orangerie. The personality of the Count of Rambuteau (1781-1869), a chamberlain of Napoleon 1 er, prefect of the Seine, still radiates on Champgrenon.

In 1997, the town of Charnay-lès-Mâcon, a new owner, engaged in the restoration of existing heritage: couchant door, cooler, entrance pavilion, farm buildings, wells… and makes it a place of cultural events. There is a green theatre and an outdoor scene for the July 14 events, the Musik'O Plural festival or the summer appointments.
Since July 2008, the old farm buildings of the Domaine have housed the former «Mécanique mechanical mill». Visitors can discover the ancient restored mechanisms as well as the know-how of this profession, which is now missing on the commune.

L'ENTREPÔT DU VIN

Caviste

Stéphane Charlot has long been a wine merchant for restaurants, bars, and even for some wine merchants in the Yonne and Nièvre regions. Here he is now sharing his experience with the general public through this cellar. Between shop and warehouse, some 300 references are gathered here, presented in huge and high shelves. Priority is given to Burgundy wines, but those from the south and the Loire Valley are also very present. Not forgetting a pretty "Wines of the World" section, and an excellent selection of spirits.

LA CAVE DE JOIGNY

Caviste

This cellar located just at the entrance of the city center, close to the bridge over the Yonne river, offers many references: local wines of course, but not only. Champagnes too, and a nice offer of champagne and spirits. But what we like is also the very nice setting, all in woodwork, magnificent and warm. The ceiling is covered with imposing exposed beams, and the spirits are all presented and sold in wooden furniture that evokes the famous crates. A beautiful place that is really worth a visit!
