Since 1994, Mâcon Centre de Gros Pêche has developed tourism in Val de Saône through fishing, exploiting in particular the richness of the Saône: the wells, which was introduced in the 1970 s. This association offers wells fishing trips over the Saône with a professional guide from mid-May to mid-October. Take a boat ride from Mâcon Marina. On a fully equipped boat, you discover the different fishing techniques with a specialist and the best corners of this river, which became mythical thanks to its record silures. Bibracte, located at Saint-Léger-sous-Beuvray in Burgundy, is an archaeological site and museum well worth a visit. To get there by car, take the A6 freeway and allow around 3 hours 40 minutes from Paris or 2 hours 20 minutes from Lyon. On-site parking is available, with spaces reserved for people with reduced mobility. You can also come by train, arriving at the Creusot-Montceau TGV station and taking a shuttle bus to Autun, then a cab to Bibracte. During the summer, a shuttle bus leaves from Autun and Etang-sur-Arroux. Bibracte offers a unique opportunity to discover the history of the region.

Famous for its abbey and stud, Cluny is also a green city. A Green Lane leaves the city to get down to Charnay-lès-Mâcon for almost 30 kilometres. An easy itinerary idea to start: bicycle on the 7 km of the green lane separating the town of Cluny and the Bois Clair tunnel. This tunnel is a local curiosity because it is now open to pedestrians and cyclists. A small crossing that will be enough to create an adrenaline rise among the least reluctant, especially as the tunnel houses bats! Since these are protected, the tunnel is closed in winter. If you still want to go south, a tunnel bypass has been set up for bicycles, but attention is very uneven.

The "Vineyards, Closed and Cadets" trail is a 10 km loop from Givry. It makes us discover the vineyard richness of the region. High in color, this walk through the vineyards is stained with red and gold as the seasons pass. You will find old houses, these dry stone shelters where the winemakers were housed, before discovering the black pine forest that will bring you back to Givry.

The AquaBresse aquatic center is a beautiful 2,000^m2 facility in the heart of the Bresse town, for amateur and experienced swimmers as well as families. The facility features a paddling pool, leisure pool, aquabike, massage areas for splashing around and relaxing, and a sports area for swimming. Outside, there's a beach volleyball court and sunbeds for sunbathing. AquaBresse also breaks the routine by organizing a number of events from time to time. Easier to use than an electric mountain bike, the e-trott is an ideal solution for a ride in the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise. Unlike urban scooters, these are equipped with large wheels with fat tires, cushioned forks and frames, wide footrests and 750 W motors for speeds of up to 25 km/h. The 16 th edition will take place on September 21, 2014 and will once again offer a walking tour and a mountain bike circuit accessible at all levels. Take off on your mountain bike from the top of the Croix de la Libération for a thrilling ride! A shuttle bus takes you to the summit from where four trails start, including one suitable for all-terrain wheelchairs. All levels of difficulty (green, blue, red, black) are available, and up to 8 runs can be made in an afternoon. A pump track, bike trails and enduro tracks (downloadable map at the leisure center) are also available. Equipment hire available.

Located right next to the supervised beach at the Laives lakes, the Aqua fun park has been delighting tourists and locals alike since summer 2022. This course of inflatable water games, which can be accessed with a life jacket, lets you let off steam for one or two hours. Spanning some 1,000^m2, the course features a number of modules: slides, a blob jump, a jumping tower, etc. For adults and children alike, there's plenty of fun to be had. A great family activity at the heart of a nautical base with a wide range of activities.

Did you bring your sneakers, but don't know where to wear them out? Head to the lakeside Marcel-Lucotte leisure park to download four trail routes via QR codes. The simplest is flat and circles the lake (1.8 km), while the other three venture more or less into the forest, on the hills overlooking the town. They all start at the same time, so you can change your mind along the way, depending on your state of fitness. 7.8 km (181 m ascent), 12.7 km (320 m ascent) and 18.5 km (422 m ascent) are available.

The Grande traversée du Morvan is a 248 km signposted mountain bike trail between Avallon and Autun. It's not necessarily a highly technical adventure, but should be reserved for hardy mountain bikers, as 4,300 meters of positive gradient await them. Although it can be done in either direction, the route is recommended from Avallon to Autun. On the dedicated website, stages are suggested, with a GPX track for free download. Some tourist agencies also offer the excursion.

Since 2020, during the summer months, the town of Mâcon and its tourist office have taken up the challenge of transforming the banks of the Saône into a water sports center. On the vast esplanade Lamartine, the Mâcon sur l'Ô operation offers rentals of pedalos, paddles and other watercraft. For the less sporty, a touring boat is available to tame the Saône. Rosalies, pedal go-karts and bicycles can also be rented for strolling along the banks. You're all set for a busy day discovering the city in a whole new way!

The Mer de pierres (Sea of Stones) at Collonge-en-Charollais is a geological curiosity well worth a stroll. Starting from the village center, you'll have to cover a 6 km round trip and climb 200 m to admire these chaotic rocky expanses lost in the middle of the forest, along the GR7. It's a pleasant walk, in the shade and with great views, in these woods where, in 1944, one of the many Resistance maquis was organized. To avoid the first part, drive to the end of rue de la Varenne, then follow the AMSV1 signs.

Wakeboarding, water-skiing, kneeboarding and other board sports can all be enjoyed cable-drawn at Totem Wake Park. These activities are open to all riders aged 8 and over. On a 780 m-long cable, ten riders can ride at the same time. Beginners will be happy to stand on their own two feet (progress is generally quite rapid), while the more experienced can take on different modules for some crazy jumps. A stand-up paddle area, snack bar, restaurant and volleyball court are also available.

Nestled in the hills south of Buxy, Culles-les-Roches is a beautiful little village. Thanks to the vagaries of geology, it boasts a surprising diversity of landscapes and biotopes. Then head for Sky Circus, the department's only free-fall simulator, founded by Titou and Béatrice, two enthusiasts with thousands and thousands of skydives under their belts. This outdoor simulator's tube may not be as wide as those in the big cities, but the warmth of the welcome more than makes up for it. And that doesn't stop taller skydivers from enjoying the thrill of starting to glide. Unlike real freefall, there are few contraindications.

Refurbished in 2021, clean and functional, the small Verdun-sur-le-Doubs aquatic complex has almost all the features of a large one. Entirely outdoor, it features a 25-meter pool, a smaller, gently sloping learning pool and a paddling pool with fountains. For the children's enjoyment, there are three waterslides for speeding along. The pools are heated to 27°C, and there's a large grassy area for sunbathing. Large shaded seating areas are also available.

Housed in a former postal sorting center, Edenwall is a climber's paradise. 150 boulders of all levels are on offer. A separate room is also dedicated to very young children, and a vast indoor and outdoor area invites you to relax, read and play old-fashioned wooden games. Also practical for non-climbers, for whom admission is free. Outside, a Ninja course, a volleyball court and slacklines complete the offer. For gourmets, snacks and local drinks are available. Saône-et-Loire is a paradise for recreational fishing. It boasts over 8,000 km of canals and 1,500 hectares of lakes, a large part of which are in the Bresse region. These geographical features make the département one of the most popular in France for amateur anglers. To answer the questions of both novice and experienced anglers, the departmental federation has an ultra-complete website, with interactive maps, environmental and regulatory information, and contacts for learning at any age. To get some height, head for the grottes d'Agneux, above the hamlet of the same name, where you'll need to leave your vehicle. Follow the GR as it climbs. At the milestone indicating the village behind you and Mont-Palais ahead, leave the GR and turn right. You'll come to the caves, which are closed but offer a superb panorama. Turn back or continue uphill, then turn left to return. Steep but shady path, 45 min round trip.

With 2,500 m² of pool space, the Espace Nautique du Grand Chalon is a very attractive complex for a medium-sized town. An Olympic-size pool, a 25 m pool, a leisure pool (massaging jets, counter-current river...), a paddling pool, an aquagym area and a fitness room make up the interior. In fine weather, the complex's roofs open onto the outside, and a wave pool, two waterslides and grassy areas for sunbathing complete the offer.

Nelly Girault created Friendly Rosalie to allow nature and Saône river lovers to escape on the "voie Bleue" from the Gergy campsite. Her Rosalies are state-of-the-art, therefore relatively light, you can ride with your family and have fun without getting exhausted. The more sporty will prefer steppers and the less courageous the electric scooters. What to discover the soft and playful mobility at the edge of the water. Ideal: the guinguette L'eau à la Bouche for a very good quality meal, otherwise a picnic is recommended.

Whether you're a novice or a master of the pencil, Burgundy's first "rando croquis" trail, at Château de Bissy-sur-Fley, is an exhilarating walk. It's an 800-metre walk with a sketchbook in hand, and four stops full of tips on how to best sketch the vineyard, the village or the château. A poetic garden, an orchard and a conservatory vineyard have also been created around this small ^14th-century château, home of scientist, poet, philosopher and prelate Pontus de Tyard (1521-1605). The château also hosts a number of summer festivals.

For a peaceful stopover between two days of sightseeing, visit Lac de Montaubry, located near Le Creusot, in the commune of Le Breuil. This vast, winding lake with its sandy beaches is very bucolic and wooded. It's a popular spot for bathing (supervised from time to time at Plage des Patins), fishing from the shore or from a boat, as well as more sporting activities such as paddle-boarding, windsurfing and water-skiing. A wild and friendly place to unwind.

Lac de Montaubry, not far from Le Creusot, is an ideal shady spot for a day's swimming or fishing. It's also a popular spot for board sports. Along a small stretch of water bordered by forests, the small village of Saint-Sernin-du-Bois reveals its ancient stones, including Gallo-Roman remains, a ^14th-century keep and a magnificent granite dam built in the early ^20th century. This charming ensemble is the starting point for numerous hikes (11 signposted circuits ranging from 2 km to 31 km, starting from the dam). Rent a single or two-seater kayak, choose your circuit and a shuttle will bring you to the starting point (6 km from Saunières, 10 km from Pontoux or 14 km from Navilly). You can then navigate independently towards Verdun-sur-le-Doubs. For the more athletic, a bike and kayak package allows you to combine the two activities in one day. This easy route takes you through the Véloroute Canal, which links Auxerre and Decize with 175 kilometres of cycling paths. The 6 kilometre segment between Chambly and Vermenton can be done on foot or by bicycle. You can climb along the water, sometimes on the banks of the Yonne River, at the side of the Cure and admire the landscapes of the valley that took the name of these two rivers. The bike is divided into five thematic stages: This section is part of the Stopover Villages stage due to the charming villages that round the route. With its cliffs overlooking the Yonne river and its location about 2 hours from Paris, this spot is nicknamed "the cliff of the Parisians". The Saussois has superb routes, accessible from the top of the plateau, allowing you to abseil down or to use a windmill. The routes are mainly west facing, and the best time to climb is from March to November. For aficionados, a 13 km walking trail will take you to the heights. With a fabulous panorama that will also delight walkers to whom climbing doesn't speak.

Departing from Châtel-Censoir, this 10.5 km long marked circuit will lead you to discover this charming village and then, from woods to meadows, to the one of Chevroches. From there, a shortcut will take you to the Grotte des Fées (Fairy Cave), where you will try to discover the secret of this mysterious place: located in the Vaulabelle woods, the cave was explored in 1904 by the abbot Parat, who hinted that the fairies living there used the underground passages to reach the Réchimé fountain!

In the middle of the countryside, in an old stone quarry of Massangis abandoned for more than 70 years, this site proposes an adventure course in the rock. A kind of compromise between climbing and accrobranche! In short, you can have fun in complete safety. Always under cover, you will find the obstacles that we know on this type of course: abseiling, perpendicular jumps or monkey bridge. Paintball and an orienteering course complete the range of activities. Note that atypical accommodations are also available for families and groups.

Fan of walking or little queen, come and live a life-size moment in the Sénonais. Several routes, more or less difficult, from 10 to 35 km, are proposed to you.
