GRAND THÉÂTRE

Concert hall for classical music opera and dance

The Grand Théâtre, together with the auditorium, composes the Opera Dijon ensemble. This hall, completed in 1828, is quite simply magnificent with a capacity of 1,000 spectators. Outside, eight majestic columns welcome you and invite you to enter this temple of the arts, which was last renovated in 2005. The chandelier that adorns the ceiling of the hall alone weighs 700 kg, and like all the chandeliers in the building, it is made of Murano crystal. The paintings are also superb, and the foyer is well worth a visit. The hall has been home to all the great works of the classical repertoire and French theatre.
