CRAIGNURE INN

British restaurant €€
4/5
1 review

The local Craignure smells good tradition with its large stone walls and woodwork. The food is classic of the country and you can often find magpies, steaks, mussels, lamb and pork on the menu which changes regularly. There are a few good beers and a pleasant terrace on sunny days. The establishment also offers B&B accommodation in three rooms with en-suite bathrooms, pleasant and good value for money. During the high season, many tourists are waiting for their ferry to arrive.

CAFE FISH

Seafood Restaurant €€
3.5/5

This is probably the best restaurant on the island, specializing in fish and seafood. It was even voted "UK Fish Restaurant of the Year" in 2012 and since then the quality hasn't gone down. The menu is superb and tasty, with halibut, sole, hake, lobster, salmon, haddock, scallops and much more. There are also some meats and a vegetarian dish. The prices are correct, with know-how and freshness always at the rendez-vous. It's often taken by storm, so remember to make a reservation.

In the shadow of the distillery, this cosy gastro-pub cooks great Scottish classics such as fish & chips, magpies, burgers and steaks. There are also salads and sandwiches for lighter options and all can be accompanied by good local beers. The dishes are made from local products, chosen as soon as possible on Mull. The bread is delivered every morning by the baker in Tobermory. There is sometimes live music and you can also just come and have a drink, in the dining room or in the garden beer.

AM BIRLINN

British restaurant €€
5/5

It's probably the best restaurant on the island with the Café Fish in Tobermory. Located in a wooden building, spacious and contemporary, the cuisine is excellent and combines quality ingredients with talent. The produce is as local as possible, thanks to the island's rich local produce and fishing. The inspirations are Scottish, and here and there they are found in other European culinary traditions. Whether you choose a meat, fish or vegetarian dish, the presentation is well thought out and the content does not disappoint.

In Dervaig since 1608, the oldest inn in Mull, the Bellachroy Inn is the rock of the village and a favourite meeting place for locals and visitors alike. There is a casual bar area with darts and another restaurant serving inventive and tasty Scottish food. Some real ales spice things up and you can come just for a drink. The hotel is also very appreciated for its comfort and standing. It welcomes its travellers in single, double or family rooms, as well as in its large lounge.

THE CREEL SEAFOOD BAR

Restaurant or takeaway
5/5

This small wooden shack serves seafood caught in the waters around Mull and Iona. You can sit on the tables in the open air or take it to go. Le Creel serves fresh seafood, freshly caught by the owner or brought in by local divers and suppliers. So it couldn't be any fresher! Teas and coffees are also served, as well as cold drinks. The establishment was nominated for the Food Awards Scotland 2020, and had already been spotted and recommended by the same institution in 2019.

THE NINTH WAVE

Seafood Restaurant €€€

The Ninth Wave is a gourmet restaurant where people come from all over the island and further afield to feast on good fish. It has a lot of rewards and reservations are necessary. The menu changes daily and is made exclusively from the freshest local ingredients. The menu combines Canadian influences with the best of Scottish produce to create boldly flavoured dishes. Try Mull Highland Beef or Mull's excellent cheeses. Reservations are strongly recommended.
